+1000 sooo much easier |
then you can offer to organize this for your PTA! |
Are you joking? |
You’ll be fine if you need to take the kids, sure there will be a few. Always are. |
But I feel bad for them. They wait outside in the hall alone. I’ve never seen one in the classroom. It’s not a night for kids. I’ve skipped when we couldn’t find a sitter or the cancelled last minute and one of us had to work or was out of town. It’s better to not go to than bring your kids. |
I preferred online! |
I disagree. The times I’ve to bring my kids, they come in the classroom. They can read a book in the corner or something. Still better to get the info, I feel. |
If two working parents are available to attend back to school night, one can stay home with the kids while the other attends and reports back. I mean really, back to school night is not so groundbreaking that everyone needs to hear every word first hand. |
As a single parent I always struggle with back to school night. I really wish they had something for childcare. I’m never able to go since I have my kids, but will ask for the info and typically I get an email. It hasn’t impacted anything but it is tough. |
100% agree-online is more convenient! |
What are HS back to school nights like? Ours is in person this year, but was on Teams last year. |
This is how I feel too. I feel like it's more for show of, "Hey, look! I care about my child's education! I'm present!" Virtual is 100% better because it solves the childcare issue and doesn't promote presenteeism for parents. |
I really hope APS brings back the online option. Oooff! |
+1 Virtual helps with so many issues. |
It will bring you back to your youth! Hundreds of parents wandering around the halls looking for specific classrooms. Because of the pandemic, I only ended up going once in person. It was much more useful than the on-line version. |
