| OP use DayQuil during the day and NyQuil at night, drink Gatorade or Powerade sugar free is fine if you don’t like the sweet ones. The combination of sleeping and being hydrated with electrolytes made a huge difference for us. |

+1 This was the only thing that helped me. They have a night version that finally allowed me to sleep at night and then I turned the corner. After the worst of it passed I switched to the regular mucinex tablets, one per 24 hours, for another week. I’d also add probiotics to the mix |

It’s complete luck of the draw who gets hit hard and who never even has symptoms. I haven’t had bad symptoms but they’ve lasted almost 2 weeks. My husbands weren’t bad but almost gone after 1 week. We both have been boosted once and of the two, I eat better and exercise frequently and am probably overall healthier. My youngest got it and has had almost no symptoms other than sore throat but she also just got boosted on July 8. So your theory wouldn’t work in our family and it doesn’t work outside your own. Vaccines and boosters helped with previous strains. With this one, it’s anyones guess how bad you’ll get it, almost like when you’d get cvid before we ever had vaccines. |

Not for me or many others I know. Unvaxxedd severe disease and died. Vaxxed had much less severe cases and did not need hospitalization. The vaccine protects against severe disease and hospitalization. |

They can all get Pavloxid, whereas those of us who are just regular folks under 50 cannot. Even so, I suspect a lot of politicians are not being honest about their symptoms and just quietly hunker down. Trump or the state senator in his 50s who died of it are obvious exceptions. |

I wish there were shots for younger people. My 18 y.o. DC, who hasn’t been eligible for a booster shot since last fall, get much sicker from COVID than I did. I was boosted this past May. DC caught COVID from a classmate and got very sick, despite being young, athletic and extremely fit. I caught COVID from DC, and was only mildly sick despite being in my mid-fifties and almost obesely overweight. Thank goodness DC was eligible for Paxlovid because in his first few days of illness, he was sicker than any other family member experienced. I think if he had been more recently vaxxed, he would have experienced milder illness. BTW, the vaccines do work in the sense of significantly reducing hospitalization and death. What the vaccines are not as good at is preventing transmission of COVID. And while it seems Omicron is milder, that is likely because of the high degree of immunity from vaccines and prior illness. Omicron is still killing people. More people have died during the Omicron wave than did during Delta. That may be a function of the fact that more people caught Omicron, but still Omicron is not “mild” for everyone. |

You say nothing though, about the other individual who says that their unvaxxed relation got way sicker and died, while the other three did not. That’s anecdotal as well, is it not? |

I'm a vaccine fan, and I tend to agree. News is ramping up on Omicron boosters being available early Fall. The current vaccines are 1.5+ years old. |
