Well, that's nice. Most do. My husband certainly contributed to my medical costs and leave.

And, just curious.....
Does this include the father when the sperm used to fertilize the egg is from a sperm bank? Things could get very interesting.......

I’m pretty sure pp was alluding do children born to an unmarried woman who doesn’t have a partner who wants to be a father.

To be fair, I do think that men should be paying child support for a fetus. Most women need to eat more, need to eat more expensive things, take supplements, pay for and take time off for medical appointments, most can’t work towards the end of the pregnancy and some can’t work from the very beginning. Women shouldn’t shoulder that burden alone.

+1 plus car seat, stroller, crib, clothes. All needed before birth.

We can’t be so limiting in our expectations for the father’s responsibility. Once we open the pandora box - all fathers are now responsible.

Will the traffic police need to administer a pregnancy test?
How would a woman prove that she is pregnant if life begins at conception? Surely the pregnancy test wouldn't be positive until implantation? What if the fertilized egg does not implant and she cannot prove that she was pregnant when she got caught in the HOV lane?

It's not "men" pushing to ban abortion - it's the GOP.

The GOP should fund all pregnancies, healthcare, births, childcare, school tuition (after they've destroyed public schools), food/housing.

Men need to pay child support at conception. They need to help pay for all the extras need during pregnancy... maternity clothes, prenatal vitamins, pork rinds, banana ice cream....

Early boarding for families with young children. Enjoy, ladies.

Man should also be forced to be 6 weeks without pay

Why?

Because it is discriminatory to just deny a woman a pay check

Well, to be fair, you always know who the mother is, but the father could be anyone. So we should just have all men pay a fatherhood tax just in case they father an unexpected child some time in their life and don't know about it.

That’s a good call.

Or require all men to get officially certified that they can support a family - financially, emotionally, etc - before they have sex with a woman.

Women wanted to show up for work. But the GOP forced them to give birth. If they can’t work, neither can the man.

But of course the red states pushing abortion bans are complete hypocrites, won't even remotely do any of this because they don't actually care about women. This is nothing but pure religious patriarchal control bullshit.

The fact that they don't *actually* support pregnant women and mothers is all one needs to see to understand just how much this is a farce.
