those low caliber students were offered remedial assistance by both school as well as peers, but it didn't stop them calling it quits

u have no idea about the caliber of students who got in. These are serious students who did well on the problem essay and had a well rounded application.

Yes I have an idea about the caliber of students who got in, as well as some who were waitlisted and rejected. Many of the kids know as well.
Obviously they did well on the essays to get in.

It is supposed to be Sophomore selection thread but spins again on the Freshman selection.
One thing is clear class of 2025 and beyond with current selection process are naturally ("innate") talented. There is no objective measures to evaluate their talents (except the fact that they made it to "TJ"). The "innate" talents can't be measured by PSAT/SAT/AMC/SO/Science Fair/Robotics/Math competitions/AP scores/NMSQT/Classes Taken/Class score/ or any other academic competitions....

The decisions are out. According to FCPS, only 10-15 students are accepted as sophomores based on essays, teacher recommendations, and PSAT/SAT test results (optional).

No news for class of 2026. For class of 2025 someone mentioned 15 froshmore's were selected schools across counties (majority from FCPS as other counties have limited seats).
