Are the decisions out yet? Did the high achieving students who were denied as freshmen, get in as sophomores to the class of 2025? I assume those that complained that their STEM stars did not get in applied again. |
The official page says before June 30th. Last year (class of 2024) they were announced one week ahead- on Jun 23rd. With plethora of issues going on with the class of 2026 the sophomore admission may be a lower priorit. Also, it could be that too many kids applied and the screening by the committee of TJ teachers (as opposed to the admission office for freshman) may be taking more time.

How many slots are available? |
Usually around 5-10 "froshmores" are selected each year to replace those freshmen who dropped out during the previous year and there should be lot more than 5-10 froshmores this year since unusually large number of freshmen dropped out this academic year. |
Don’t be so sure. TJ has never wanted to fully fill the class. They have never offered the number of open slots during sophmore admissions. |
They try to fill about 70-80% of the missing spots. |
It would mean a min of 15 based on 21 slots already opened as of June.? |
Wrong. They had 30 open slots for the class of 2024 last year and admitted less than 10 kids. |
Where do you see this data? There is no way to know how many additional kids from TJ freshman class moved out after June. |
Heard that some have already received their offers. |
Duh - They can only admit "qualified students". They are normal people unlike the school board which does what ever they want. |
Do you know from which base High school? Thanks. |
Froshmore decisions are made by the TJ teachers not the FCPS/Admissions Office. |
McLean. |
Great! There are some great kids in McLean and Langley. I hope they all make it |
