try a barre class |
I don’t agree with this poster. There is a reason people say legs look great far longer than the rest of you. |
yes |
and that will never change. I am not sure what your point is. |
OP here and I really appreciate the advice. I have a pull up bar and will try some TRX bands with that. And I’ll keep up my yoga intensity and walking/jogging. I’m trying to lose 10 pounds so that might help too. My doctor said weight bearing and weight resistance and I heard “weights” but now I realize they aren’t the same thing necessarily. |
NP. I'm not top heavy-- I'm 5'4, 128 pounds, and pear-shaped--34B and small- waisted. My legs are definitely the most toned part of me, and it's not close. Just based on regular regimen of walking and body- weight squatting. I think, as with everything, this varies from person to person. |
Just buy some small dumbbells, and go on youtube. So much free content - there is absolutely no need to pay for the peloton app. Some I like are: popsugar fitness, growingananas, Heather Robertson. |
I have a heavy dumbbell and there are SO many workouts I can use it for. |
A few dumbbells and a set of resistance bands (different resistance) |
Squats and push-ups use your own body weight and are super low tech. Good luck! |
Jump rope. |
Dumbbells.
Check out the youtube on Lenny Kravitz Mens Health Whats in your frig. Lenny stayed in the Bahamas for several years during covid. He worked out mostly with dumbbells. He is worth something like 90 million and could have the best gym in the world but he worked out during this period with mostly dumbbells. |
I love Les mills body pump. I did buy all the equipment but you could do the classes with your own weights. When I was completing 2-3 classes a week I was very toned.
We also have a peloton, so I e tried some of the weight lifting classes and they are kind-bum ugly boring compared to les mills. |
*mind-numbingly boring but I might start using kind-bum ugly—thanks auto correct |
