Today, tortilla chips and hummus.

Not necessarily a bigger one but rather one with more fiber and protein and fewer carbs

Everything. That’s why I’m fat.

lol, me too. ALL the Easter candy. Yesterday it was too many jelly beans. .

There are good ideas here, though. When I'm being disciplined I might have hot tea and something with protein. Or on a disciplined but treat day I might have a homemade chai (so some milk for fullness) and a cookie.

This is me everyday. Cheese and corn chips (unflavored). Or some yogurt with oats mixed in. Or some rice cakes with almond butter. I have a crazy active metabolism even in my mid 40s and eat a lot throughout the day.

Nuts, fruit, pretzels with cream cheese, cheese and crackers (not all at the same time). Sometimes I have dolmas on hand and they make a good snack too.

When I'm starving at that 4ish time I love to do things like pop a couple frozen quiche in the air fryer and serve with a side salad, make a cup of frozen French Onion soup (Trader Joe's has easy single serve soups), or smash an avocado and make some homemade guac and chips, or make an air fryer pb and j. Today I had a leftover enchilada around 4pm and then had a single serve charcuterie board with random leftovers- I took a plate and put a couple types of crackers, crazy feta, hummus, a few cheese slices, apple slices, grapes, cucumber slices, and red peppers.

Why do you air fry a pbj?

Raspberries, apples, cherry tomatoes, cucumber slices etc. - as much as I want.

Anonymous wrote:Ugh. I struggle with this too. I teach and lunch is at 11:00. I'm not much of a breakfast person anyway so I skip it. And I don't have much time so I eat a small, quick lunch. I snack on fruit during the day when I have time. It's enough to get me through until 3ish but then I'm starving. I usually eat a salad when I get home but it's not really enough, and because I'm so hungry I want to cover it in cheese and olives and heavy things.

Woah- you need protein! Just eating fruit and salad is not enough to maintain optimal blood sugar levels.

Well, lunch often includes Greek yogurt and the salad usually has beans. But yeah, I struggle. I'm a vegetarian. Never had a problem before teaching and kids when I could cook all the beans and whole grains I wanted, or afford to buy nicer prepared foods. So I reach for what's easy. I used to do nuts, but an actual serving size does nothing for my hunger. And I'm trying to lose weight after a medication that did not agree with me. So yes, I'm a hot mess.

Nonfat plain Greek yogurt and fruit. Sometimes the fruit is applesauce and l sprinkle on cinnamon - yummy and satisfying

I eat 2 cookies and a glass of milk.
Anonymous
