What do you eat at 4/4:30 when you are starving

Olives or pickles. If still hungry I move on to a granola bar.

Dinner.
Strangely enough, I don't feel hungry for a snack later if I eat dinner early, even though I go to bed around 11. But if dinner is later than 5, I end up snacking on nuts, cheese and the like. I decided eating earlier is better as I don't add in the calories of the snack.

Dinner. I usually don’t eat lunch so I’m hungry by 4-4:30. Kids get home from school and are starving. Snack/dessert around 8

An avocado is my usual go to.

I often do 2 smaller meals in the evening. When I'm starving at that 4ish time I love to do things like pop a couple frozen quiche in the air fryer and serve with a side salad, make a cup of frozen French Onion soup (Trader Joe's has easy single serve soups), or smash an avocado and make some homemade guac and chips, or make an air fryer pb and j. Today I had a leftover enchilada around 4pm and then had a single serve charcuterie board with random leftovers- I took a plate and put a couple types of crackers, crazy feta, hummus, a few cheese slices, apple slices, grapes, cucumber slices, and red peppers.

I usually stave off my hunger with a cup of tea and then have an earlier dinner around 5.30pm. Occasionally I'll have an apple or a granola bar if I can't wait until then.

I basically eat something every two hours. In the afternoon (after a light lunch), I'll eat an apple or pear, nuts, maybe a little cheese or peanut butter, baby carrots, a cup of tea, a couple of espressos. I could eat a huge lunch and still be hungry way before dinner. I feel like a pig but I can't concentrate on work if I'm hungry. I am not overweight.

(Dinner is late in our house - empty nest with DH cooking. And he only seems to need 2 meals and no snacks despite being >2x my weight.)

Coffee and/or a granola bar or some peanuts.
If still hungry - dinner by like 5:45-6 instead of waiting until my usual 8-9 pm.

Ugh. I struggle with this too. I teach and lunch is at 11:00. I'm not much of a breakfast person anyway so I skip it. And I don't have much time so I eat a small, quick lunch. I snack on fruit during the day when I have time. It's enough to get me through until 3ish but then I'm starving. I usually eat a salad when I get home but it's not really enough, and because I'm so hungry I want to cover it in cheese and olives and heavy things.

This used to happen to me but I upped my protein throughout the day and now doesnt happen. That being said, if it did happen and I was in a pinch I usually carry mini macro bars with me.

Woah- you need protein! Just eating fruit and salad is not enough to maintain optimal blood sugar levels.
