Well I don’t. I am a SAHM and my mother and grandmothers all were too. We have all always had cleaning ladies. I did actually have to figure out how to clean my house during the pandemic and it did not go well.

This post made me laugh. I am a SAHM that always had a cleaning lady weekly till the pandemic. Trying to clean my own house did not go well too. Suddenly there was black mold in the toilets and moths in closets no matter how much I vacuumed and dusted and scrubbed. So glad the cleaning ladies are back.

Sahm and yes I do all my own cleaning. We have a large family so our home needs daily cleaning and at least two loads of laundry a day.

I think there's a huge distinction between SAHM of school age kids and SAHM of younger kids.

No way do I do all that cleaning, AND take care of my young kids, just like no nanny will also scrub toilets. However, if my kids were all in school and I were still SAH and money were at all tight, yeah, I think I'd happily do it myself.

Moms cannot compare themselves to nannies or housekeepers. Those kids are yours and that is your house!

I SAH. Older elementary kid. Cleaner comes every other week for deep cleaning. I vacuum/wipe down/do the laundry.

Sometimes. Cleaning person comes once every 2 weeks, DH does a lot. HHI is somewhere over 500K.

DH has a high need for order, I don’t. I do plenty but it’s not good enough for him so whatever he wants on top of what I do, he does. He gets that it’s his preference, not a need, and I’m not going to exhaust myself to keep things as orderly as he wants them to be. Some things he has had to let go because he doesn’t have it in him to do the way he wants, like the way I load the dishwasher. But he does all his own laundry, wipes off the counters, launders bed sheets, often vacuums…maybe a few other things.
