Advanced Academic Programs (AAP)
You just set a good example of being politically naive. |
Okay. So why would Asians pay for the crimes committed by whites while white people actually benefit from them? |
You're right. The best solution that doesn't punish Asians and doesn't have a magnet school that black kids are unable to attend is to just close the school. |
Yes, I can tell the difference between an opinion and a fact. Your last two sentences are options, the rise in anti Asian hate crime in the past two years is fact. |
So you're saying the reports about FCPS's anti-Asian rhetorics are opinions, but not facts? |
Again, why did whites benefit (rather than get punished) from the crimes they committed? |
Why should Asians have to pay for the oppression of African Americans by WHITES |
You don't understand the meaning of the word 'racist' and are using it inappropriately. It should only be used when deliberate action is being taken to deny someone the same opportunities as others have based on the color of their skin. That is not happening at TJ. |
What crime are you accusing 14 year old white kids of committing? |
isn't this exactly what TJ reform is all about? Are you this naive or just obtuse? |
|
I do not think that the TJ changes were made to intentionally depress Asian participation. I do think that the application process should not advantage those using test prep schools to prepare for the test and that real FARM families should get a boost (not “pandemic” free meals ones) due to not being able to afford the same enrichment opportunities as non-FARM families.
The SB focus should be on economic status not racial status, and on trying to tackle the problem of test prep |
Why are you asking me?!!!! "African-Americans have been systematically put down for the majority of America's history, and now you are saying that policies to help them succeed must mean that you are being put down" You claimed this was motivation for all the race-based liberal policies. And now your saying it's not true? |
Why should a public secondary school model its admissions practices after those of a private university? At a minimum, as we are already seeing, it ensures that the public school system will end up embroiled in litigation just like big universities with massive endowments. It's all very odd. On the one hand, Brabrand revealed his obvious disdain for the Asian families and students who worked so hard to gain admission to TJ, and yet his actions appear to reflect a similar POV that TJ is really the only school that matters in FCPS, and that the symbolism of having more Black, Hispanic, and low-income kids at one school is critical to the futures of all the Black, Hispanic, and low-income kids in FCPS, even though the overwhelming majority of them will never set foot inside the school. It's simultaneously anti-meritocratic, yet profoundly elitist at the same time. |
Not only that! White liberals actually benefited from the TJ reform when they claimed the motivation was to counteract the oppression of blacks by WHITES. White student population actually INCREASED a lot as a result of the TJ reform. |
You must understand that the TJ process functions as a zero-sum game. There can only be 100% of the pie, and if one piece gets larger, then another must get smaller. There is no deliberate attack on Asians, it is simply that they were the largest proportion, and thus, it makes sense that the proportion decrease. It is not anti-Asian policy. |
