Um. No. Did your kid tell you that? 😂 |
Oh please, so many other districts have closed for tomorrow, including Fairfax and Loudoun. It’s really ok to refrain from criticizing APS for every single decision. |
Omg this is too funny |
It’s one thing to make the decision this early when there is a high degree of certainty about the next day’s weather. This is not that situation. They should have waited until tomorrow morning to make the call. |
Agreed, this is very likely to be a bust. |
People complain in roughly equal numbers either way. |
I would be the correct call. |
*It |
I think most of the people who complain about calls made that morning are poor planners. If you need to figure out alternative childcare, there is no reason you cannot are that back-up plan the night before based on the forecast and then wait until the morning to confirm once you see what APS does. I don’t know why some people are seemingly too stupid to figure that out. |
Well, glad it’s a snow day. I had written it on my calendar as a day off. Maybe I was looking at an old list of days off? Or I could just be losing it. Anything is possible at this point. |
DCUM meteorologists are just the best. We all benefit from their insights. |
The temperature the day before a storm is not that important if the precip is at least moderate. The temperatures are going to be in the 30s in the hours after midnight and close to freezing in the morning. The temperatures aloft will support freezing precipitation (sleet first, then snow) by 4am. The bigger downside risk to this storm is that it is actually "too cold" and the bulk of the precipitation stays largely to the south. |
Some of us are listening to actual meteorologists, who are the ones saying there is a high degree of uncertainty around this storm. |
Yup. It melts sooooo slowly. Oh, and oops, they forgot to treat the roads. |
Yes! That's exactly the kind of insightful insight that I was looking for. Thank you! |
