APS closed Monday

What do you think that conference call was like? “Anyone want to open? Didn’t think so. K, tks, bye! “

Prepare for Tuesday as well. WTOP reports that the slush will refreeze as temps are dropping through the day tomorrow. Tues commute will be rough.

It's APS stated policy to announce the night before if possible after a few Murphy bungles.

The right call.

And then they'll hopefully close because of Omicron.

I mean are you shocked? They are calling for 2-6 inches, predicting it to impact the morning commute and the storm warning goes until 1 pm. I’m glad they are telling everyone in advance.

I’m the OP and not shocked at all. I knew that especially with the teachers checking in and being ill they would close at any threat of snow, and this storm seems legit. I was just joking about how little debate there probably was on the conference call. I’m an in person Fed, so I’m hoping that OPM calls it soon so I can just not set any alarms now.

Lol, yes, I think that’s probably about how the conversation went 😂

Right call. Happy they let us know now and not at 5AM tomorrow.

Given how warm it has been lately, I am skeptical that we will have much actual accumulation. I think they should have waited until tomorrow morning to make the call. If people need to make alternative plans for tomorrow, they could have done that now even if school hadn’t officially closed.

It’s an AM rush hour storm for the heaviest snow. Otherwise known as a cluster-f. The models are actually calling for 10+ inches of snow, the the ground estimates are being reduced because of the warm temperatures and that it will rain first.

The temp drop into Tuesday is might be an issue, APS has delayed/closed for ice before and it has been pretty wet already. I feel like I haven't seen the sun in weeks.

Prince William just announced they are closed tomorrow.

Hopefully not, that would be a horrible mistake.

They won't, they can't due to SB 1303
