Given how warm it has been lately, I am skeptical that we will have much actual accumulation. I think they should have waited until tomorrow morning to make the call. If people need to make alternative plans for tomorrow, they could have done that now even if school hadn’t officially closed.

It’s an AM rush hour storm for the heaviest snow. Otherwise known as a cluster-f. The models are actually calling for 10+ inches of snow, the the ground estimates are being reduced because of the warm temperatures and that it will rain first.

What models are calling for Arlington to get 10+ inches of snow? CWG is estimated 2-6, and even they acknowledge the warm ground temperatures could minimize accumulation.

PP is talking about what the clouds have the capability of producing versus what will accumulate/fall to the ground.

It is currently 63 degrees in Arlington. If some snow flakes fall from the sky, the chance for any snow accumulation tomorrow is literally zero. The chance for some rain tomorrow though is more likely.

No, the snow will fall but it will melt on the roads. So at most the roads will be slushy tomorrow.

Tuesday AM will suck if the temps stay low and the slushy freezes.

This is so annoying, and how on earth did we get in a place where APS calls it before Fairfax?

What model is showing 10+ inches for Arlington?

You don’t seem to understand what literally means.

Couldn't possibly be because APS is capable of making rational decisions, could it? Nah.

Hopefully not, that would be a horrible mistake.

They won't, they can't due to SB 1303

instead, they'll need to close for 2 weeks to slow the spre-, uh, melt the snow...

Did only some APS schools have classes tomorrow? Yorktown goes back Tuesday.

All schools were supposed to have classes tomorrow. Why would Yorktown have been closed?

Yay!! We can skip this whole week.
