They are now looking at adding space outside of the St. James facility and also playing some games on Thursday to accommodate more teams. I think the "southern" tournament may have been cancelled.

yes...the south tourney in VB was cancelled

Right now all we know is that the boys teams play on Saturday between 7am - 7pm, and the girls teams play on Sunday between 7am - 7pm.

Mr or Ms Hyperanal Panic Attack is back on the boards about schedules for an f’n local tournament. Are you new to tournaments or something?

Lighten up, Francis.

But ya know, it is unprofessional to keep people in the dark about schedules when you're just a few days out from the tournament. There are families with multiple kids and activities that they are juggling, and need time to sort out schedules and logistics.

I'm not new to tournaments, I just expect a basic level of competence. Well-run tournaments are able to provide a schedule weeks in advance.

I don’t think I am the one who needs to lighten up there. But if you’re not new to tourneys, I am sorry for the others who have had to deal with your nonsense over the years.

I just read your post and I am not the person you were responding to. I'm sorry but no tournament posts schedules weeks in advance. Well run tournaments still require maximum amount of time to allocate field space, fill bracket vacancies and ...
Even if all of that is locked down they dont post weeks in advance as you say. It just doesnt happen for obvious reasons. Maybe you are new to tournaments. Its ok if you are, just know you wont see games posted at best one week out typically 4-7 days

Also not any of the PPs. This is simply not true. The majority of tournaments we’ve attended have had schedules out 7-14 days in advance. The more organized ones being 2 weeks. And what field assignments? This is an indoor futsal tournament held only at TSJ.

Not true for most tourneys I have seen over the past seven years up and down the east coast, and especially during Covid. The location has nothing to do with it. The problem is that many of the coaches have multiple teams, and there are limited courts on which to schedule games. If they had ten locations and a different coach for every team, I guarantee you this would be much easier. We were just in a regional where one coach had four teams and eight games a day. Any change in schedule has a domino effect on other games and many of the top futsal clubs have coaches with multiple teams.

Is today the day???

On their website under rules, its says:

SCHEDULES AND STANDINGS

"Will be sent to teams at least 5 days prior to the tournament."

ummmm don't the boys play on Saturday? lol. Youth soccer is so unorganized.

Our team definitely has not received one. Is there a link to it you could provide?

My kids play in two different Futsal leagues and one plays on a year-round Futsal team.

Scheduling indoors with the much more limited space than outdoor locations (especially in basketball season) is tough. It takes a lot of moving parts.

We had an out of town Regional tournament this month and received the schedule Tuesday with first games Sunday morning.

IF you are local, is it that huge of a deal?

Saturday morning, I mean. 4 days notice. Most of us just booked a hotel and the hotels had 24 hour cancellation so we ended up cancelling Friday night when we saw we had a later Saturday game and could make it down with plenty of time.

I guess my advice is to 'unclench'.
