Doesn't this only go up to U14? The two top U14 Alexandria futsal teams play up in age. I assumed that was the reason. |
| still haven't seen a girls schedule |
No. Has nothing to do with it. Organizers couldn't handle the number of teams they had promised. And somehow the Virginia State Cup includes Bethesda. If it's an open tournament, fine. But change the name. |
| Fyi, schedule has changed drastically since going up yesterday. |
| This tournament is ridiculous. We have stuff going on this weekend. I'm just going to bail. |
Most ages aren't even as competitive as the Alexandria tourney or league. And no, I'm not with Alexandria. Some "state cup." |
| It is definitely not a state cup. There are 4 teams at U13. |
| Our club warned us in advance that this tournament is always a shit show. Clearly they were not lying. |
| Still no girls schedule? |
Yeah. But my kids love games so is excited to play 3 on Saturday. It doesn't require a drive out of town/hotel and is fairly close for us. With it going to be 20 degrees and incredibly windy Saturday--it's a great way for him to spend the day instead of on video games. Bro is going to be outside playing soccer in that weather, but he's the type that will barely wear warm clothes, always hot. Must be dad's Cleveland genes. |
There is a U13 team playing the u14 bracket, which is what bethesda should be doing. |
it is posted. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jFxxcS5WR8V8NuJ3ibF3p3ZA_cY5x9JYUfZyupeuW90/edit#gid=1962331888 |
Bethesda doesn't have serious futsal training. Games on weekends that are more often than not BSC scrimmages mixing genders and ages because not enough teams, at the younger ages it's entirely that. No practices or futsal skills taught. They've just recently added in a little futsal training for some first teams. All that being said, I agree that given the small number of teams and talent levels, some Bethesda teams should do vedy well and could be up. U13 is one. There's more. At the very youngest, looks like they get some good SYC or Alexandria competition depending on the age and gender. As you get older, not so much. |
| It's pretty lame that there are 8 teams in the 2011 girls bracket (2 divisions of 4) and you only play 2 of the teams in the division. You could go undefeated and end up second, so teams will look to try and blow out other teams. Stupid. They really couldn't figure out a way to play each team in the div then a final for the top 2 teams? |
I think all the brackets are set up that way. It's a very poorly designed schedule |
