We are not our kids. We can love them and still have our own beliefs. We can honor what they do good in the world and caution against other activities but once they are adults they are responsible for their own choices and saving their own soul.

If you honestly believed that your child was putting themselves in serious danger, what could you do but continue to work with whoever was going to help them and hope they would come around? Only a terrible parent would close their eyes to the danger in order to avoid an argument.

Only a terrible parent would consider their child's being gay to be "dangerous."

How many ten year olds are really thinking about sex? It's not even puberty for them. Maybe they are just relating to more feminine activities or something. It's not set in stone at age 10. More like they don't associate with typical male behavior for one reason or another. I'd continue to expose my child to many people so they could form an opinion on behavior themselves and let them hear teachings about not abusing their body whether hetero or homosexual. Most churches empathize forgiveness and understanding, so no I wouldn't take my child to a church where I felt they were getting picked on or everything taught was negative, but I would take them to a church that explained what sex was for spiritually and how it could be abused in many ways. There are a spectrum of behaviors even in homosexuality. There are people that are abusive with it spreading diseases and having sex with abandon and people living in homosexual solid relationships. I'd rather them learn why sex is important to society and how it can be abused and let them make a final determination on their own body and soul.

My child can be gay and they don’t have to nor would I ask them to attend my church. I will still go. My child can follow of an entirely different, non Christian religion and that doesn’t change my own faith. People make their own choices and I will respect them. I have many gay friends. They are walking their road and I’m walking mine. I love them for who they are even if they don’t share my faith. Just like my nonChristian friends.

. I get that you don't think its worth it, but others think everyone has their own decisions on how to make their way in the world and what they will accept. Amish do it quite often. It doesn't mean they don't love their children or talk to them, but each child is able to make up their own mind after learning the faith whether to accept it or go their own way.
