| You are a paying customer, if you are not happy it is fine to leave. |
| Make the move |
| Always do what's best for your kid and people will understand. |
A lot of “may”s. Old teammates “may” also be happy to have more playing time since there are fewer subs. Coach “may” not be thrilled but in my experience, it happens and they adjust. Kids have even boomeranged back to club later with open arms. I wouldn’t say it’s a burn bridge from what I’ve seen. |
| It’s not a great look, and it’s a burned bridge, but as long as you satisfy your financial commitment for the year they can’t keep your player card. |
No one will hate you, that is horrible. Parents will only question their own judgment because they are insecure or scared about their child's relevance, performance, and playing time. If you move on it affirms their own worries, lots of educational and recreational and sporting organizations thrive on this fear. Talk honestly with the coach and club about your expectations and thoughts about next steps, they want your kid to stay or go somewhere to be successful. If the coach/club is part of the solution, no bridges need to be burned. PSA: I am not a coach or loudon parent |
| NP: What if the coach added new players toward the end of the fall season (when no players left) |
| Its a perfect opportunity to teach you kid about commitment. Stick it out thru Spring and change after your commitment. Let the both clubs know your intentions. Unless your kid is a complete phenom neither will care that much. Just dont bad mouth the former club and everything will work out fine. |
| How old is this kid? |
| My u13 is changing teams and I don’t feel bad about it. |
Mine as well. This is the age where some kids start taking it more serious than others. |
| If it helps him transition and build friendships after a recent move, I say go for it. |

Commitment? No quitting? Its 2021, look around.
I’ve seen coaches quit, goalie coaches, club directors, etc. mid season. You can’t even tell/trust who your coach is gonna be on mmay teams, how many they will take on a roster, if the walk makes the talk, etc. No gold watch or reup bonus in kids soccer no matter the level. |
Would say the commitment is more about a life lesson outside of the small minute world of youth soccer. When its a paying job then other factors come into play. Non compete clauses, length of contract etc. |
+1. Potomac’s coach quit in the middle of the season last year. Middle, not end of the season, but the middle of the season. |
