I personally believe he's known for a while - though I definitely think its a longtime favorite.

As for 'very late' - you realize most presidential candidates only announce the VP nominee in the last week of July to the first two weeks of August?

He's right on time. Obama didn't announce until the 23rd!

I honestly believe Trump would feign a health complication and drop out if Joe added Michelle Obama to his ticket. He'd know he'd be creamed in November.

I also think Whitmer is tough because attacking her makes him and GOP look like a bully attacking a "mom". Where as attacking Warren, Harris, Abrams actually plays well with his base.

Don't get me wrong - I love, love Michelle Obama. I think she'd be a great President or whatever she would like to be, but she's never held public office. And while she's wildly popular on the left, not so much on the right. This type of blind spot with Hillary Clinton is why Trump won in 2016.

Harris became a stepmom to two nearly grown kids, not sure if that’s perceived the same way.

Harris is a stepmom, although she purportedly has a good relationship with her kids, she is not their mom.
