The Grand Jury certainly agrees. Their statement that they "Believe in Justice For Both" JR and CB couldn't be more clear. The disgusting statements re: JR above are typical of the sort of dehumanizing thought patterns that enable crimes like this to occur. BB chose not to divorce but to play chicken with local LE. One grand jury spoke clearly today. His days of freedom may well be numbered. |
Wonder how long it will take for charges to be brought in the stabbing? |
With all of the details provided in the article, it's too bad they screwed up on the lead to their story: they say that the trial is going to start on Thursday. Yet, it's only that the trial date will be selected on Thurs. Kind of undermines their accuracy. They do say that AP admitted to shooting JR while he was on the ground. Again, she's going to have to testify in her trial to establish that while on the ground and suffering from a gunshot to the head, JR was somehow a threat to BB. In fact, according to AP's statement as publicized, she didn't say that she shot him b/c he was about to hurt BB. AP must have some REALLY fast fingers to be able to open a safe that is awkwardly located on the floor, spinning it left and right and left and right under great pressure to get it open fast. Think about how long it takes most teens to open their lockers! AP knew how to open that safe .... or .... was the safe conveniently left open b/c BB knew that the plan was for AP to shoot JR the second time to put her in the criminal acts with him???? The latter sounds more likely. |
In the video at the story above there is an image of a safe on the floor of what looks like a clothes closet, maybe it was in the same room?
Her lawyer previously stated that JR "moved." That will be the defense. Of course he was writhing in agony and was heard moaning in the 911 call... I do think she will be convicted then deported. Not so sure about the rest of it, but hope, like in the Winger case, justice will eventually prevail. RIP Joe and Christine, may you and your families get justice. |
If BB had a plan, it would have been infinitely easier to keep AP out of it altogether. |
It won’t matter what the experts say - at worst they will cancel each other out. What will matter will be what she said to police in her hours of interviews. |
I am definitely team Christina and Joe just want to make sure we’re speaking facts, the comments about Justice for Joe and Christine came from Joe’s mother not A statement that was made in court. |
Obviously an already-shot JR presented a serious threat to AP and BB. Had he survived he would have been able give an accurate account of the events implicating BB and AP in CB's murder. |
Could family and friends of JR make some additional photos of JR available to the press? The one photo that is used over and over again is not doing him any favors. |
Super important point. I was skeptical when I first read this on DCUM...grand juries don't "make statements" |
A Grand Jury's acceptance rate is like 99.99% of all cases. They are practically a rubber stamp in this country. I'm waiting to see what happens during the trial |
All they hear is from the assistant district attorney (ADA) and a few (very few) witnesses. The grand jury is just seeing if the state has enough to charge the defendant. They do not even consider guilt/innocence. And the ADA can come back to the grand jury as many times as they want. For example, an ADA may present to the grand jury, then the GJ has a bunch of questions for the ADA. Each juror asks questions directly. This may cause the ADA to step back and realize they do not have a strong enough case to get indictment. So they go back to the detectives, scene, etc and develop a stronger case. Then they re-present to the GJ at a later date(they try to present to the same GJ, which is why many serve for on day a week for months at a time). Charges can be added/dropped/changed, defendants can be added/dropped/changed. So no a GJ is not a rubber stamp. However, if you have unlimited chances to build a case and secure a vote, then the likelihood of getting an indictment increases. |
First, that was a pretty terribly written article as it seems to have confused multiple readers into thinking the the grand jury "believe in justice for both"
AP was "indicted on charges of second-degree murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony." Does this mean VA must convince the jury that AP was part of the planning or execution of the felony? |
I think the felony is the second-degree murder. So just saying she used a firearm to commission second-degree murder. |
Nah, more likely to maintain her silence otherwise and to date, she is the only one arrested, so, his plan is working well for him so far. |
