| Can someone direct me to the transfer rules for NCSL and CCL? I'm not sure if "transfer" is the correct term....but what happens if a kid/family wants to leave an NCSL team for a CCL team and he has already been carded under his NCSL team for the year? Thanks. |
There is only a no poaching rule between CCL teams/clubs. In order to move from a CCL team to a NCSL team you need to get your card from your club and to release your child. The club may force you to pay out in order to get the card based on your contract for the season. |
You don't need the actual card. You just ask your NCSL club to release your kid from the roster. Once that is done in the VYSA database, then the CCL club can add your kid to their roster. It is a "transfer" to the new team if the player has already had a card issued. |
The "card" in this sense is the release of the player, not the physical sense. |
| Thanks for the responses...and wow, almost an entire page without anyone attacking something. : ) |
Since this is the beginning of a new seasonal year, there should be no need of transferring or requesting a release. A release is requested when the kid wants to change clubs DURING the season or BETWEEN seasons of a seasonal year. The new team's Team Manager or other Administrative Official is responsible for that oversight, not the parents. If you committed to an offer for this seasonal year and have now changed your mind, a release must be requested in writing by the parents to the TM, and you will likely be responsible for the seasonal year's fees associated with the club/team you are leaving. |
| Well when does the season technically start? I believe that rosters have been sent to VYSA already. |
Well, once the roster is approved, if you want to drop from one team and move to another, you are considered a transfer, even if it is before the season starts. You can't transfer during the season, only in between seasons. |
If a team's roster has already been approved by VYSA, then the card has already been issued and the player has to be released. Rosters are approved as early as 8/1, so there is definitely a possibility of needing to request a release. |
You do realize with the guest rules those teams sent mostly guests to CCL games, right? CCL was literally the last thing on any of those teams minds. |
I can't speak for all the clubs listed above, but my kid was on one of those teams, and I can assure you they had no guests play in their CCL games. The team that played in CCL matches is the same team that played in nationals. Not every player played in every CCL match, but there were no guests. The coach would sometimes use these CCL games as development opportunities to try players in different positions in a game situation so you may not have seen the exact same line-up. You'd also see subs getting more time in CCL matches than in tournament games, state cup games, regionals, etc. |
I take it you were there coaching then. It might be open to everyone but clearly the interest is mostly with people that want to brag to their friends at the country club. |
| Yep - just Arlington players here: http://www.vysa.com/docs/odp/DistrictODP/North%20Boys%20D-ODP%20District%20Pool.pdf |
Sorry was not there coaching but with my son who was participating. |
Loudon had no guest players in CCL games or tournaments when we played them. |
