Johnny Depp trial in Fairfax County

Does JD's team get to do a rebuttal closing?

Those were good points re AH's charity donations. She did donate about $1M of the pledged $7M so far, but then she got sued and has paid $6M in attorney's fees. The charities themselves said pledges "count" in terms of what will be due to them, but they commonly get such donations over time due to the tax benefits.

Elaine babbling reminds me of the scene in Tootsie where Dustin Hoffman walks down the stairs in the soap opera set and babbles and then rips his wig and eyelashes off.

Me again. The whole team looking faint.

Elaine is looking pretty faint and tired…

She's next up, nervous. Did you see when she reached over to hold Amber's hand? It was during Rottenborn's descriptive abuse. Amber was breaking down. REAL TEARS,

Funny how people see things so differently. I’m laughing at Amber’s performance.

People are only going to see what they want to see. That was cringeworthy to me lol

Okay if you want to count what Elon donated on her behalf into that $1M amount, you go right ahead! She could have donated on her own behalf and still reap tax benefits during those 13 months she had her $7M and before JD sued her, but did she? Nope.

Law & Crime has a monopoly on this trial. They're the Fox news of law & crime. I need another live site, anyone?

Agree! And I'm an Elaine fan. But it'll be the last thing they remember and she's covering it all. Important that she explained away the "hoax" that Amber and friends set up a trashed penthouse and called the first set of cops. Amber didn't press charges, so cops left. Plaintiffs claim she and friends then again trashed penthouse some more and called LA cops. False. Elaine proves that a friend in NY (not at the penthouse) told a friend in LA to call the LA cops. There were a lot of people within the Depp/Heard posse. Some friends and some foes.

The jury only needs to decide on whether the Op Ed defamed Depp. Nothing more. The headline of the Op Ed was pulled from the ruling of the UK trial. Amber did not write it or approve it.

Didn't she say she wrote it yesterday during rebuttal?

No, the $500K from Musk didn't count toward that $1M total. Those were multiple payments from Heard (and also included Depp's initial $100K contribution from the marriage settlement that he sent directly and tried to claim for his taxes but that really were due to be credited to Heard since they came from Heard settlement).

Each side will get a round of rebuttal.

Was Vanessa Paradise called to testify?

Yes she wrote the entire Op Ed but not the title or headline. Editor's of Op Ed pulled the headline from the UK trial. Amber didn't have a say. I was in publishing for years. There's typically a separate department that headlined content. Fast forward to the digital world and multi departments manage multi tasks. I imagine if she was concerned she could have reached out to assert authority of the headline, but since the UK trial had already been decided, she probably didn't really think about it.

Anonymous wrote:In the closing argument Ms. Vasquez says that Amber suffers from "Mental Health Issues" if so, they want to condemn her and not help her?

She said AH is deeply trouble and has border line personalities, yet, pointed out all the flaws she had and all the "horrible" things she did, again, condemn her and not help her?

Is anyone talking about Mental Health? Haven't we seen enough?

JD is a drug addict and horrible drunk why are these people turning a blind eye? Why are JD followers turning a blind eye?

This is unbelievable.

Mental illness may explain Amber's behavior but it doesn't not excuse it. What you are suggesting is that she not be held accountable for her actions. I must also point out that alcoholism is also a mental illness and often comorbid with other mental illnesses.

Amber is not the one who decided to put either of their behavior on trial. This trial isn't about either of them being held accountable for their behavior. It is about whether one of them was lying when talking about the other's bad behavior. And if both behaved badly, then neither is lying if they say the other behaved badly.

AH is exactly who decided to put their behavior on trial when she wrote the OPed
