Elaine is looking pretty faint and tired… |
| This closing for the defense is very clear and powerful. Depp should lose. I would never want to live with a person who acted like him in those videos. |
| Rottenborn is doing a pretty good job. I didn't like him in the beginning and oh what an unfortunate name, but he make ben Chew look like a village idiot. |
She's next up, nervous. Did you see when she reached over to hold Amber's hand? It was during Rottenborn's descriptive abuse. Amber was breaking down. REAL TEARS, |
Mental illness may explain Amber's behavior but it doesn't not excuse it. What you are suggesting is that she not be held accountable for her actions. I must also point out that alcoholism is also a mental illness and often comorbid with other mental illnesses. |
Funny how people see things so differently. I’m laughing at Amber’s performance. |
Amber is not the one who decided to put either of their behavior on trial. This trial isn't about either of them being held accountable for their behavior. It is about whether one of them was lying when talking about the other's bad behavior. And if both behaved badly, then neither is lying if they say the other behaved badly. |
DP. There is nothing funny about any of this, and it’s disturbing that you think it is. |
Don't sleep on Elaine. Laughing at a woman who was abused repeatedly and raped by her husband. Hmmm. |
| Elaine is being too scattered and losing jury's focus. Things need to be in simple bullet points for the jury on what they're supposed to do. She's just rambling. |
|
I was going to say that unless the jury is filled with Depp fans, Depp should try to settle this before the jury finished deliberations, because AH's lawyers' closings seem very strong and I think JD is going to lose.
But that might hurt him on public opinion, and even if he loses I guess he gets to portray himself as the wronged man who was betrayed by a jury of AH/metoo fans, or something. 50M probably means nothing to him anyway, but the approbation of the jury verdict is probably something that would be bad for his career, but maybe it let's him still claim to be the wronged one. |
| Cut the fat out Elaine. Too bad. Rottenborn did such a cleaner job. |
Stop talking Elaine
|
Exactly, this is bad. She’s also going to use up their time before rebuttal. |
Agree! And I'm an Elaine fan. But it'll be the last thing they remember and she's covering it all. Important that she explained away the "hoax" that Amber and friends set up a trashed penthouse and called the first set of cops. Amber didn't press charges, so cops left. Plaintiffs claim she and friends then again trashed penthouse some more and called LA cops. False. Elaine proves that a friend in NY (not at the penthouse) told a friend in LA to call the LA cops. There were a lot of people within the Depp/Heard posse. Some friends and some foes. The jury only needs to decide on whether the Op Ed defamed Depp. Nothing more. The headline of the Op Ed was pulled from the ruling of the UK trial. Amber did not write it or approve it. |
