Everyone in a society having medical insurance is really a good thing. It brings down emergency room costs because people get better primary care. However, California can’t do it alone. California can’t afford to pay for every poor person in the country who needs medical care or is homeless and has mental health issues. So now with millions more eligible for medi-cal insurance run by the state citizens who are poor are going to have MUCH longer waits to see doctors and specialists. This really harms poor Californias who are citizens. There us such an emphasis on provide of for undocumented people in CA that middle class citizens are getting screwed. Case in point: Gavin Newsom just VETOED a bill that would have made all health insurance companies pay for hearing aids for children. Right now many do not so if you are making 80,000 and your kid needs hearing aids every three years that can cost $5,000 to 6,000 dollars you can rightfully blame Gavin Newson for not caring for your kid even though you have paid Ca taxes for years and years. My nephew had cancer and now needs hearing aids due to the side effects from chemotherapy. So frustrating fir his middle class parents that they just paid $5,500 while undocumented people can get theirs free. |
+1 There is nothing at all fair about letting in millions of illegal immigrants who are completely dependent on us for their livelihood. U.S. citizens are footing the bill. Vote Biden out. |
This is the 3rd year in a row that there has been more people leaving CA then entering. https://ktla.com/news/california/new-census-estimates-show-which-california-counties-are-losing-residents/ https://www.foxbusiness.com/markets/wealthy-californians-ditching-state-putting-tax-revenue-risk Is it any wonder why? And, the people leaving are the wealthy people who are fed up with the high taxes. Those entering - a lot of illegal migrants. They are already at a budget deficit. https://calmatters.org/economy/2023/12/california-budget-deficit-2023/ Wonder how they are going to fund this? What will they cut? Or, will they go the usual Democrat route and raise taxes even more? |
+ a million And, get rid of all the Democrats who are ignoring the problem. |
I agree wholeheartedly with the point you’re making. But somewhat off topic— But don’t state laws and regulations on health insurance only apply to market place plans? If you work for a large employer and that employer is self-funded (hard to tell because they have large health insurance companies “administer” the plans so you receive mail/emails and your card says the name of the administration company i.e. BCBS of Illinois—even though you don’t live in Illinois)—don’t those plans only have to follow federal regulations and federal law? Most Americans are covered by ERISA/self-funded plans so most people probably wouldn’t have benefitted anyway. |
Nah. We need to get rid of do nothing republicans. They can’t govern They can’t build anything They can’t fix anything Worthless party. |
It's not Republican or Democrats. It's the extremes of each party that are crushing the US. I'm a Democrat but I love in a place so progressive, we have a socialist in charge of the county. This is corporate repellant and as such, companies simply refuse to move here and instead choose locations right across the river in Virginia. We need moderate Democrats and Republicans to regain hold of their respective parties. [I've got $50 that says a progressive will reply to this screeching about Trump. Any takers?] |
Ooh, tell us about the Democrats in Congress who are sitting on the border bill/Ukraine/Israel aid because they consider the border proposals "cruel and inhumane." Apparently, refusing to allow million of illegal immigrants into the U.S. is "cruel and inhumane," according to LWNJs like you. |
No it’s like autism behavior therapy in many states is mandated that every insurance has to pays for it. It would have been the same for hearing aids for children. Insurance would have had to pay 100%. |
You can't be this stupid... can you? He is saying that he slowed down the process in order to make SURE that Republican border demands are met. As he said, only a few people are actually negotiating this deal - and most lawmakers haven't even seen what's in it. He is trying to make sure Republicans get everything they put forth in their bill, and that's not at all clear right now. He doesn't want the bill jammed through without making sure Republican border proposals are met. It's pretty amazing the complete twisting of words you people are capable of. |
