That Brett was part of a gang rape ring when he was in high school. She doesn't say for sure that he raped anyone, or her, but that she saw him standing in line for his turn. The members of this rape ring made punch that people knew had been spiked with drugs and/or grain alcohol. She says she attended 10 of these parties while she was a college student. I think the one where she was finally raped was her last, but I'm not sure of that.

So, she is what, 3 years older than he? In college. She is returning from college, as a legal adult, and attending parties where she is witnessing gang rapes of minors.... children, legally. And, instead of doing something about it, like reporting it, she returns to these parties where crimes are being committed 9 more times. And, has decided it is now time to report it.
But, instead of going to the police, she goes to the press through an attorney.

Sure. Makes sense to me. /s

Said the loser that's never been to a party that didn't involve a goodie bag at the end.

Give me a break. Lesson for the losers in the room: You don't "report" what happens at a kegger (or in this case, a grain alcohol and quaaluder). You will be destroyed and they will be named to the homecoming court.

Oh, please. It is beyond credulity to think that not one person at any of these 10 parties did not report or tell anyone about the crap that was going on. This wasn’t a Kegger - this was gang rape of minors. And, this woman making the accusations was an f’ing adult.
I cannot believe people are actually falling for this.

And I cannot believe there are so many bookworms on this board -- I've chatted with every friend I know in the past week, and every one of them remembers at least one party where she was pretty sure something was going on in that back room.

Wow, that's pretty damn telling. That's a flat-out admission that the intention is to simply bring Kavanaugh down with unfounded accusations.

Not it isn't. It is admitting that this is not a criminal proceeding and "beyond reasonable doubt" doesn't apply.

How about just meeting minimal standards like corroborating evidence that's not hearsay?

Yes. Our country is in real trouble if a man’s life can be destroyed based on mere allegations. A truly sad day.

Akin to gang rapes with men lined up outside?

They can't go there. He is being accused of criminal offenses. If they really cared about his alleged crimes, they would be willing to file police reports.

WTF?!?!? As an adult, she witnessed multiple rapes of children and said nothing to anyone????? What????

Please say that again!

As you no doubt know, sensibilities were different then. I have no idea if she’s being truthful but it’s plausible that a person in 1982 could attribute such a thing to the girls being “slutty” or “careless” with what they drank but as a full grown up in 2018 see it a different way.

Not really. Did you just come in? Read this thread from the beginning, and the previous long thread. Also read the New Yorker article.

Kavanaugh has apparently destroyed more than one woman’s life. But that’s okay, right?

The presumption of innocence is a basic human rights value. But not for the alt-left crazies.

"Pretty sure?"
Did they see a line of guys outside a door waiting to get into a bedroom with a minor who had been given some kind of drug?

Question: If you were Brett Kavanaugh, and you were completely innocent of these allegations, wouldn't you want a full investigation to clear your name?

She signed an sworn statement. The risks to her are HUGE here. She risked it all. And there are other witnesses who have agreed to come forward to corroborate her statement.

I think the people criticizing her should remember that Kavanaugh's mother was the county prosecutor now. The other guys who were taking turns raping girls were most likely similarly well connected.
Sexual assault back then, hell, even in 2006, was not taken seriously or prosecuted EVEN WHEN THERE WAS EVIDENCE, EVEN WHEN IT WAS REPORTED. The criticism of her for not reporting sooner is ridiculous.

What world are people living in that they are surprised by these stories?! The Post just did a story last week about how a town treated a young woman who reported her rape, and vanity fair has a piece out now from girls who ran in these crowds saying “yup, that’s what it was like.”

This happened. It still happens. Those of you who can’t/won’t believe it are putting your sons and daughter’s at risk.

As a woman who has two sons, I'm enraged. I told them and my husband the only thing that separates them from Kavanaugh's fate is decent moral women. Any woman now can accuse her husband of rape and all it would take is her allegation and a few tears to destroy him.
