The St James acquires FCV

Loudoun dad...here is a link to a recent ECNL game I found on YouTube. Presumably these players have been "developed" by Loudoun along the way since Loudoun doesn't recruit right?

In no way am I suggesting the players are bad in this video, I am suggesting the players and their families have been ripped off for close to a decade under the guise of "development" while collecting trophies.

Maybe many of these girls could have truly "developed" somewhere that valued development more than wins at the youngest ages.

I found the free kick shortly after the 30 minute mark very indicative of Loudoun Dad's "development" narrative. The keeper has easy options to play out of the back to and decides to blast the ball long into a crowd of people. Maybe without FCV as a neighbor, Loudoun will teach the players how to actually play the sport instead of kick and chase - said no one ever.

Just watched a good portion of this game and I'm wholly unimpressed with this Loudoun team. Is this typical of other Loudoun teams? Hard to find where they complete more than 2 passes before losing the ball or more likely kicking it down the field. I don't know if they win games or not but geez this is not good soccer.

I am wholly unimpressed with your treatment of teenage girls. Enjoy the tolls troll. Karma has its day.

Not PP, but I sort of agree. The pass at 18:00 made me turn it off.

I have seen DA teams that play just as bad.

And... that means what to you? I’m not sure your argument is working to make that ^ appear better.

Loudoun 03 is the worst of the ECNL teams. Cherry picking one game of the worst team in that program is not a fair representation of the program at large.

That’s like saying FCV’s 05 parents fight on the sideline so all of their parents fight on the sideline.

I hope for everyone’s sake that’s an accurate analogy

What people often fail to remember for the older Loudoun girls (older than 2007s/rising U13s) is that prior to last year, there was no path to higher end soccer for their "top" girls, so they left for other ECNL clubs (like FCV) in years past. So if you're evaluating the older Loudoun teams, then yes, they probably aren't the "best" teams in the area. When Loudoun got ECBL last year, they basically they took their older Red teams at the time, held tryouts, and made them an ECNL team (with perhaps a few additions). So of course those teams will struggle against the established ECNL/DA clubs in the area (that are full of the top/previous Loudoun girls from that age group). Take a look in a few years at the 07, 08, 09s, etc. as they rise into the ECNL and then make a comparison of Loudoun versus the McLeans, the FCVs, etc.

Well said and exactly correct.

And it has been said that with FCV moving to Springfield Loudoun will have no more excuses. It is now put up or shut up time.

Those aren't excuses.....that's reality. Until last year, Loudoun had no place for their top girls to compete at the highest levels after U12, so many left for programs that did. Not a slight on Loudoun - just a fact. In a few years, if you compare the 07s, 08s, 09s, 10s, etc. across the area and all of those teams are struggling, then you can draw your own conclusion. But until that point, you're just comparing apples to oranges.

Isn't that what I just said? Evaluate the teams in a few years and then, and only then, can an accurate assessment of the clubs can be made.

No need to get feisty....

This was in no way a statement about the girls on the team. It is a statement about the coach and the program. Clearly they are not teaching them to make passes and try to possess the ball. It’s not that the team wasn’t capable of completing more than 2 passes, it’s that they weren’t even trying to complete passes. I fault only the coaches. Has nothing to do with which players are on the team and everything to do with style of play. My player is not in a top league and would probably lose to this Loudoun team, but boy do they play a different style.

You ever notice that the FCV DA parents are complete a=hole morons that define their life via their daughters soccer success? I mean, who actually takes the time to watch that YouTube video? I guess the same folks willing to spend their time sitting in Springfield traffic so they can pay to play futsal to get their daughter a shitty soccer career when she leaves home (if she can even afford it). Good luck with your useless obsession. Btw, your daughter will NOT make the national team. Ever. She comes from you genetically, so she is too dumb. Thanks for the revenue however.
