With U12 games now starting/having started for the 2008s, I spent some time updating my spreadsheet for the new year. Quick, everyone go get their GotSoccer points before the U13 madness ensues! (:

Many/most/?all? 2008/U12 girls teams/leagues in the DC-Metro area <== link

Remember, any rankings are **NOT** my own, but rather what's being reported by the YouthSoccerRankings and GotSoccer websites. I'm sure there are errors, so just let me know.

Although EDP has posted most of their Fall schedules, it appears that they have not officially placed teams in the top divisions for each region. Once that gets posted, I'll copy-and-paste those affected teams accordingly.

There appears to be some interesting moves for teams between clubs and leagues for this year. Teams have changed names and/or clubs. ANd then there is McLean, which has its top team is in NCSL, but its second in CCL (Championship), and the rest are back in NCSL. What the heck?!?!?!

I've made an effort to properly account for all CCL teams this time, but I have no idea how accurate it is. The CCL schedule webpage is so bonkers, that I've attempted to make my own (see the CCL 2019-20 "worksheet"). I have no idea if this schedule translates well across multiple age groups.

Sorry, but this is a weird hobby. I'm not sure how you spin "grown man keeps track of all 12 yrs old girls" as anything close to normal. All this exercise proves is adults ruin the sport by taking it way too seriously. Your kid doesn't care this much and she'd def stop playing if she heard 45 year old men keeping lists of how good or bad she is.

I have a 2008 girl and don't have time to do all this so I appreciate someone else doing it. Thanks!

So comparing your daughter to other 08 girls is what's important to you. Sounds good.

"You know, I love you honey, but that fpyc team is a lot better than yours. And that bryc team is incredible. Also, Arlington, Alexandria, and Bethesda. Oh and these other 12 teams. I care about you so much I do research and learn about other girls."

Instead of wasting your time on this, maybe go kick the ball around with her, or listen to her talk about whatever, or do your job so you can keep providing. Just do anything else please,

Sadly, most of these parents - especially on the girls side - have little to no actual interest in soccer, they’re just uber-competitive and want their DD to kick other kids butts in something and to be labeled as Elite in that discipline, be it soccer, lax, etc...really anything will do.

This may be a dumb question. Why would a club have a B 2008 team but no A 2008 team? (Ed, gsc spirit red 08 but no gsc spirit premier 08).

I have a U12/08 son and this is the weirdest thread ever. I haven’t met any boy parents this crazy and I have a U15 son as well. The need for validation is strong here.

And yet you went out of your way to say how superior you are.

If you don’t like/agree, you have all the rights to go elsewhere. I have an 08G, and I find this information useful.

Gunston's "A" team plays in EDP in Maryland. Their B team plays in a lower NCSL division.

some people are data junkies and like crunching numbers

correction - I don't know where Gunston's "A" team (GSC Spirit Premier) plays. They were in NPL/VPL last year but not this year, so they must have switched leagues.

EDP is a good guess.
