Rubenstein still works, travels, multitasks like a machine. And he was a multimillionaire decades ago. Same for feinburg, Zuckerberg, gates, jobs, etc. You either have work ethic and pride in yourself. Or you don’t |
I've got all that except fulfilling work and good boss. Considering giving it up for a more demanding job, but damn I have it pretty good. |
Do Women Really Not Want to Work?
No |
Those people started businesses and that made them rich. If I win the lottery I am not going to continue showing up at my employer every day dealing with aggravation and frustration so that they can make more money, eff that noise. Money gives me choices and I'll leave the jobs for the people who need them while I go and do good works. If that makes me lazy, then so be it. -- Lazy NP who doesn't derive their worth from a paycheck |
Well they are fools because working is much easier than providing nonstop childcare. |
You dont even need to dig into male business celebrity. How about the likes of Ellen Kullman, Indra Nooyi, Marillyn Hewson, and Safra Catz. These women are all mothers as well. You think they are somewhere crying in the wine wishing they had stayed at home? No, they understood motherhood and a career are not mutually exclusive. |
Agreed. That poster is obnoxious. |
Do men really like to work? Or are they just trying to get an 8-10 hour break everyday from the wife and kids?
Inquiring minds want to know! |
OMG. Random DCUM worker bee comparing herself to Feinburg, Zuckerberg, Gates, Jobs, etc. I've heard it all now. |
haha and you both sound jealous. |
You think you have it good that you're not doing work that you find personally fulfilling/meaningful? This is how you spend the majority of your time! Man, you have been brainwashed by capitalism. |
I don't understand all the people on here who claim they would still work even if they won the lottery.
I think that is very very very rare. I like my job but like any job, it has boring parts. It has annoying paperwork that I don't feel like doing. It's not always that interesting. My boss can be super annoying and my co-workers are not my best friends. It's a JOB. It's not FUN. I would quit if I didn't need the money. But overall it's a good job. |
I'm not comparing myself, but we did get a windfall of 3M+. I still work. This is not lotto mega millions money, however with my DH having a solid 300k/yr job, plus the investments, I certainly dont need to work. However my job is not bad, I enjoy my co workers, and I have a ton of flexibility. I already outsource cleaning and grocery shopping, I can say that I don't see a purpose in not working. Sure if I won the lotto, i would not work. However that would be because my DH also would not work and I'd consider homeschool for my kids so we could basically become professional travelers. But now with DH working and kids in school, I'm not sure I'd find much purpose being at home. |
Ha! Same. I can't think of a worse life than that of a military spouse. |
This. HIS base and bonus. Entitlement and gross. |
