I don't work in any related industry. Even when the story broke I thought this wasn't an "everyone knows" secret, this has been documented. Had no idea this was news.
I hate people who said nothing when it actually mattered piling on now. There is a writer who has admitted that he said nothing about Cosby when it would hurt his career. He piled on when it would help his career. |

On a different note, I think there are some who knew and kept the secret to themselves. These are people known as the Paltrows. There were some who heard rumors that he used the casting couch method and called other women whores for using it. These women are called the Lohans. And then there were people who were successfully and victims of the Lohan rumors and may or may not used the practice. These women are called the Lawrences. Additionally there were people who knew and kept the secret for a profit. These people walked away with NDAs and confidentiality clause settlements, so they did not talk. Another group of people knew and individually warned women, known as the Jolie's. Finally there were some who heard whispers but dismissed them because after all Weinstein was their friend and he had never shown the propensity of such vile behavior toward them or anyone else they called friend. They deemed such ripumours born out of jealousy to bring Weinstein down. After all, people had started vile, vicious, hateful lies about them so why would they believe such garbage about a friend - escpecially a friend who had always been so kind. These people are called the Obamas and Streeps. I know I have friends that I would defend to the end. I would call you a dirty, filthy, no good, jealous, lying heifer for suggesting my good brined was a despicable, rapacious, sexual abuser, and be dismayed and dumbstruck at how blind and gullible I was as his friend. But, just because my friend was proved to be as bad as reported would not mean that I had known all along. |

I'm not blaming the victims...what Harvey did was wrong. But what respectable woman takes a meeting in a man's hotel room? Befuddling. Meet in an office. Meet in a restaurant. |

You contradict yourself. First you said you wouldn't have believed her. Then you state why didn't she tell someone. She did tell someone. She told any female who would listen. Apparently, they took your first advice and didn't believe her. She also said she chose to never not work with him again. I guess that was her way of dealing with it. |

DP. It is a good question. Asking a good question does not mean one is blaming the victim. I teach my twelve year old son not to walk down certain streets because of the known dangers. That doesn't mean I would blame him if he was robbed or attacked while walking down that street. I'm teaching him not to intentionally place himself in a position of becoming a victim. I think that is what PPP was asking. |

Seriously, he is a high powered Hollywood guy that could make your career. He would meet in the hotel lobby and somehow convince these girls that the "script" was in his room. Or he had a female assistant in the room to make the victims feel safe then he would excuse the assistant. He had tricks to get them to his room. Heck, he even cornered them in the hallways and jerk off. People didn't come out against him for fear of retaliation or being sued for libel. Or being blacklisted in the industry. In numbers, these women feel safe to come out. I hate to think of all the young women the casting couch has taken. I hope he goes to jail. I hope it's a wake up call to the predators in Hollywood to stop this behavior. |
