Secret report shows ‘special’ treatment for public officials in D.C. school lottery

You gotta hand it to Bowser and Henderson- rather than own up to any mistakes, they are doubling down and defending he preferential treatment. That takes some serious chutzpah!

Thanks for the update. DCPS needs a control board to take over and fix it. What the heck ever happened to transparency? Who are the other goons getting VIP treatment?

Someone should check to see if any of these bozos contributed to Bowser's campaign around the time they received Kaya's "special treatment."

Problem is, nobody in power much cares in this city of Dem machine politics and deep-rooted racial and social polarization. Case in point: the AG never bothered to investigate the school cheating scandal under Rhee. An epidemic of rule-breaking was shamefully swept under the rug. These days, a handful of DCPS buildings are renovated to the tune of 100 million+ while the highest performing neighborhood high school by a long shot--Wilson--makes do with one college counselor for 450 seniors. Why should we be surprised?

Special treatment and lack of accountability and transparency has become the hallmarks of DCPS, not pernicious problems the Mayor, DC City Council and courts move boldly to address.

Does Roberto Rodriguez have one as well? We need accountability for all these officials.

Send every student who got special treatment back to their IB school. The only solution that will give me any confidence in Bowser.

Using one's political office for private gain = UNETHICAL. If I had asked for my kids, all I would have gotten would've been the middle finger with a dismissive smile to boot.

This is what you deserve. You voted for a Democrat in a machine town.

Not me. I was a registered democrat before moving to dc. I took one look at the clowns running this place and registered as independent. Voted for catania.
