Psychiatrist here. The therapist scenes are textbook perfect of an abusive relationship. Kidman is spot on.

Thank you for the professional insight. I couldn't believe she went to the airport to pick him up, it was as though she is more committed to him after discussing it with the therapist.

I know we don't know who was martyred, but do the police know who the murderer was? It didn't sound like a case of self-defense, because Celeste is certainly establishing her case with the doctor.

I took this as a reaction to her epiphany in the therapist's office. A flight back to the familiar (no pun intended)

All the shots of the moms driving and then glancing at the kids, and the parade of kids and then moms in their audrey hepburn getups. I usually fast forward through it but this weekend I watched it live and ugh. It's so distracting. Other than that, I'm liking the show more and more. I posted a few weeks ago that I wasnt' thrilled with it (it felt too different from the book to me) but Nicole Kidman's performance is amazing. It's totally drawing me in.

Agree! I am enjoying the show (I did read the book) but the opening sequence is very annoying. Hate the music.

No. Police are conducting an investigation -- "no one has been ruled out" as a suspect.

Loving it but two things:

1) Amabella is the dumbest name

2) If this is a public school there should be no parent transportation but buses. Yes, I know transplanted from Australia but still doesn't ring true.

My kids attend a wealthy public school close-in. Think Tesla, Mercedes, Porsche, BmWs galore at pick-up. Kids forgo the bus for door-to-door service.

The school auction is ridiculous for a County public school. Parents bidding 1,000s of $$$.

I've found a lot of the BS rings so true. These people remind me of so many---right along with stupid names.

This isn't true of all public schools in the US. None of the students at the public elementary school I attented were bussed to school. Some of us walked to school but many kids were driven to school by their parents because, even though nobody zoned for the school lived far enough away from the school to qualify for bus service, many kids' homes were not within easy walking distance from the school (ie the distance was just under what was required to qualify for bussing &/or walking to school would have required crossing a major road/highway).

Most small school districts in California lack school buses. They were cut in the late 1970s.

Huh? My local Virginian elementary has all of the student section within a 2 mile radius. No one is far enough to take a bus, so they aren't provided.

What I'm wondering is why none of these 6 year olds are in boosters?

i live in Marin County in California and there are no buses here for public schools (Sausalito, Mill Valley, Tiburon etc..)

We live 0.75 miles in N. Arlington and have a bus.

No offense, but nobody GAF about any of y'alls bus routes. It's a TV show. It may or may not be totally factually accurate.

We're in Fairfax County and at the local elementary, less than half the students are provided buses (most live within 1.5 miles). Of the "walkers" I'd say 85% and a good % of the kids with a bus option, are all driven to school. The carpool line goes on forever.
