This was a real post on my neighborhood listserv

No. We're not cool enough. Thank God.

All I'm saying is that many of us in the neighborhood know the OP and the poster mom. And find what the OP did to be incredibly unkind. I'm not threatening her safety (and I think you know this but are trying to stir the pot) but yes, neighbors are aware of what the OP did and think it's incredibly cruel. The OP will find a few more cold shoulders. That's all.

You can't tell who OP is from DCUM, so now you've found someone unpopular to harass? Stop it now. WaPo, where are you?

Not the PP, but OP could have shared their intentions beforehand or gabbed in the aftermath.

Possible, but unlikely, in view of the creepy "we know who you are" remarks. It could be pine-cone mom herself making threats, I suppose.

NP here. How do you know who the OP is?

It is truly an increasing avalanche of ever-grosser degradation, from the spiteful little child, no doubt laughing as he hurled his missile at the unsuspecting motorist, to the motorist, delighting in screaming at the poor defenseless child, to the preening mother, plastering her passive-aggressive hypocrisy across Bethesda, to the privacy-stealing anonymous OP, smearing this grotesque incident across the World Wide Web, to the screeching harpies, homophobes and proverb-misquoters alighting on the sorry tale like vultures on the bloated purifying corpse of a baby hippopotamus.

No, I am afraid that no one, except possibly me, has emerged from this wretched little tale covered in glory. SHAME ON ALL OF YOU!

Lighten up, Francis.
This post isn't sarcastic?

Right, I read it as a sarcastic parody of the situation as well. I thought it was cute.

It was a hypothetical. Doesn't mean I know OP.

There should at least be a snark site devoted to neighborhood listserve posts-because I would love to read about someone giving away expired smoked salmon. I would repost stuff to that site, and I would not feel guilty.

Oooh, mine had how to make your own milk. LMAO.

Seriously, how would he know unless momma pinecone tells baby pinecone?

Um, perhaps because this post is blazing like wildfire through various internet forums? And other momma pinecones discuss it in front of their own baby pinecones?

I know the name of the poster who threatened OP with karma, you'll-get-yours, and cold shoulders. When I catch her coming out of lululemon I'll post her picture.

Then that's on the shoulders of those gossipy women to act like adults. And I don't know many six year olds digging through message boards. I could be wrong.

What the hell does this mean? Are disparagingly saying this kid will be gay?

Am I the only one who doesn't find it odd to give away smoked salmon? Could be fed to a pet or used in the garden.
