How would you react to a stranger shooshing your child at a restaurant?

OMG! This last page of comments has me LOL, and i mean that literally. And I mean literally, literally. I have tears coming out of my eyes. You are all too funny.

In any event, I am withholding judgement until i know the HHI of both parties involved, as well as their stance on cheap plastic crap for birthday party goodie bags. Pro or con people? PRO OR CON?!

Were they at the IHOP because the wife had a kitchen pass? .. or perhaps the husband did? OP, we demand to know!

Now I am determined to make this to 20 pages.

Mary had a little lamb, it's fleece was white as snow.
And, everywhere that Mary went the lamb was sure to go.
It followed her to school one day,
which was against the rules, but it made the children laugh and cheer to see a lamb at school.

I may have misquoted this but I am sure that sure that the Mother Goose police will be out to correct me.

This has to make this thrad to 20 pages or I will have to post another Mother Goose rhyme.

Obviously, OP is the needy type who would go for cheap plastic crap for birthday party goodie bags. Eight days a week.

I'd like to know if she is STILL breastfeeding him? And whether he uses a "paci" and what, other than OP's breast, he drinks beverages from.

It's a choice, it's always a choice.

There are no guarantees in life.

Clean up in the divorce.

Donate to charity.

I'm breastfeeding my child to make him smarter.

OP, I'm so sorry that you are going through this. While nothing can undo the shoosh your son experienced, I wanted you to know that I'm thinking of you, and hoping that the love and support of your family helps you through this difficult time.

OP, do you buy your child plastic or wooden toys?

I bet plastic, and probably from China.

Dear Rare Good at Math Lawyer who is the Equally Rare Person Who Likes IHOP Chocolate Chip Pancakes: Did you breastfeed your child? If not, did you pump at work and donate the milk to charity?

Only for 6 months. Then we switched to rat poison and Snickers. I am definitely the worst mom in the world. I may even get that distinction printed on my mommy cards. When he is old enough, I will feed him chocolate chip pancakes from IHOP, but only if they use organic chocolate. Do you think they do?

Was the transition difficult? Is your child now less attached to you? Will DS dump you in a nursing home when you are old and frail?

OP's husband is gay.

I'm really flabbergasted that the OP felt the need to point out the couple's age, "older." Why do we need to draw attention to people's age? When I look at someone, I never notice that person's age. Why can't we be more sensitive to the ageism that abounds in our society? You know what is equally shocking? The number of follow-up posts who seemed to enthusiastically embrace the stereotype that older people are more likely to be both shooshers and/or shhhhers.
