Will school weapon detections cause class time delay?

DC arrived at Chantilly at 7:35 and barely made it to class on time.

The schools need to open the doors earlier.

There's also Marshall. (and outside of FCPS, Meridian. the boundaries all abut each other and use M's as part of their logos. So it's sort of like the W schools in MoCo.)

They used to open the doors at 7:30. I guess they don’t have staff to work the metal detectors that early. It took forever just to get to the school parking lot this morning.

They aren't walking thru doors. They are waiting in a line of hundreds maybe thousands of kids. The biggest schools have 2800+ students. How do you think that many kids can go thru metal detectors in 20 minutes?

They aren't walking thru doors. They are waiting in a line of hundreds maybe thousands of kids. The biggest schools have 2800+ students. How do you think that many kids can go thru metal detectors in 20 minutes?

That would have been an excellent question to ask before the Board required detectors at schools that don't have weapons/violence problems.

Didn't they try this in several school in the spring? Didn't they figure out whether this is feasible in all high schools with all 4 grades? What's the meaning of test this using a pilot program without identifying the issue and finding the solution?
