Will school weapon detections cause class time delay?

Principal announced everyone was through the line at 8:22, and to start marking students tardy at that point.

The students have learned to just come late. Then they don’t have to go through any screening at all.

ROBINSON WAS A MESS TODAY

My Son sent me a video looked like a Black Friday line from 2008.

Drugs (illegal or otherwise) and vapes are
Not detected.

That advil you found meant some poor girl
panicked and then had to suffer period cramps
All day. Good job

This is almost a haiku.

DAY 2 The lines are long again Robinson

Woodson has been screening since 8/20 and the line has gotten progressively longer. My kids arrived at 8 yesterday, and were in line until 8:45. This morning, the school announced that anyone who arrives on the bus will get a special pass so their tardies will be excused. If you arrive by any other means, regardless of how early, you will be marked unexcused.

Kids who have 1st block trailer classes will be told to go through security but if they don't they will still be let into their 1st period trailer because there is no way to verify they have been through security.

If that doesn't confirm this is all for show, then I don't know what does.

Hide all your contraband by the trailers, kids, then bring it in after security shuts down for the morning. Or stash it on the side of the school, leave the building through a non secure door, and get your buddy to let you back in through the side door. Or hide it in your binder and walk through security with your binder over your head. Or or or...

What a joke. I'm usually pro FCPS and can justify their decisions but this one makes me angry.

This is more than just “for show.” Somebody is making a very large sum of $$$ off this.

Anyone willing to bet some of that $$$ found its way into FCPS pockets ?

At this point, it's the only way this makes sense. This idea is so ineffective and useless that somebody is getting paid off.

At my kid's school there are a ton of classes in trailers, and they just turn off the machines after the beginning of the day. I'm glad my daughter doesn't have to deal with going through the stupid things three times a day (beginning and two classes outside) especially because the trailers aren't near the entrances where the machines are, but I mean, WHY? This is so dumb. Also, they were not used for back to school night, which meant ANYONE could have come and hidden things in the school. What in the world is the purpose of these things???

Yes, they aren't using them for any other activities in the school: community use, SATs, volleyball games---no metal detectors.

They also aren't going to use them for football games..... make it make sense...
