Exactly. Have these people never heard of prepaid hotel rooms or increased prices for last minute hotel rooms. This is unreal that this is even being considered.

(keep in mind baseball for example does tournaments on spring break).

Realistically everything will not be able to be made whole. People will not be able to reschedule volunteer commitments, equipment for field days will be booked by other groups etc.

FWIW these holidays move to the left approx. 11 days per year.

Kadera says based on public comment tonight, they have been talking on breaks/behind the scenes on how to keep events on.

But now saying why its problematic to let private events go forward from an APS accountability perspective.

Isn’t the policy also to have 180 days??? (This is different than the low bar 990 minimum state requirement.)

Poor people are one level below Muslims in the oppression Olympics, so they don’t matter for this issue. They need to suck it up.

Band and Orchestra should 100% be able to continue going on trips. Plenty of events happen when school is closed. The teachers will get paid for the day right? So they could volunteer their day and go (and I think band and orchestra directors are usually a very committed bunch).

No they can meet the very low bar 990 hours requirement. But the APS calendar says 180 days.

Clark: Monumental collapse in calendar coordination across APS. That NO events should have ever been scheduled on this date since tied to lunar calendar. Saying if this was in Sept, there would be fewer issues but b/c last weeks of school you can't make these things up.

They said there is flexibility due to the situation. Take it up with the school board, not me.

Is any other district considering this? Why is APS doing this?
