Harvard tell Trump to pound sand

Kind of interesting that William Burck and Ben Hur are the lawyers hired by Harvard to defend them against the Trump administration. Burck is Quinn Emmanuel and has previously been a close Trump advisor. Hur, as you may recall, was the special counsel who investigated Biden (Joe not Hunter).

Stopping payments and grants to Ivy League schools is a winning political strategy

That democrats don’t see this just confirms how elitist and out of touch democrats are

They didn’t simply “stop grants” hey tried to extort the school into adhering to a certain brand of MAGA ideology. What happened to “freedom”? Trump makes a big deal about censorship and yet here they are trying to censor an entire university.

You are in a bubble. It is not popular at all.

Another drive-by comment from a MAGA drone.

Two old school Republicans (though neither are old), glad to see it.

The president is getting people to root *for* Harvard. I don’t think you see how bad he is at governing.

But that’s objectively horribly horribly dangerous for democracy.
I’m a Jew but pro Palestinian speech is fine by me.
Trump needs to go fight a battle for people who want it fought for them
Where are the Jews standing up and staying not in my name? Enough already!

Unfortunately, I think there are many Jewish Americans cheering all of this on with the belief that the propaganda regarding anti-semitism on campuses was accurate, and a false sense of confidence that these unconstitutional actions won’t result in something very, very bad in the long run.

Colleges have always been at the forefront of anti-war and anti-apartheid protests. If they can stop Pro Palestinian protest, it will go a long way towards appeasing Jewish billionaire donors that have helped fund Trump's campaign like Miriam Adelson. They saw the dangers of what was happening in Columbia University and don't want to see that replicated again.

Yup you’re in a bubble. Even Candace Owens is against Trump on this. Now Trump is making new threats since Harvard didn’t capitulate. Now they’re threatening to take away their tax exemption and prevent them from enrolling any foreign students. They’re using any lever they think they can to take away Harvard’s first amendment rights.

Dies Harvard invite conservatives to speak on campus? If they do, are the speakers treated respectfully or shouted down?

NP. Are you ok with liberal speakers being shouted down by an audience? Yes, you are, so stfu with your double standard.

We might be closer to the point where the country stops valuing education and scientific inquiry than ever before, but it is not a “winning” strategy. It’s a losing strategy from those willing to see the country itself lose its global influence and leadership. It’s a hick move designed to maximize hick mentality, but intelligence has a way of winning in the long run. No one will forget this, so enjoy your glue high while it lasts.

PP here. What? I simply asked a question that you don't like. I'm not okay with anyone shouting down a speaker. For that matter, I don't use vile expressions when talking to people or posting on the internet.

Please define "hick" for us. That's a derogatory term.

In Trumpism, there is no such thing as a derogatory term.
