Before his response to the layoffs I would have agreed with you. However, the whole creating a Virginia has jobs site was extremely tone deaf. He has done nothing to push back on the mass layoffs.

This sums up my sentiments exactly. Gov. Youngkin - as the senior Republican elected official in Virginia - should have stood up for his constituents. He completely failed, in my opinion. That's not going to serve the GOP well in the near future in Virginia.

Expand the middle schools and transition one period at a time to 6-8. Only make the moves necessary to fix overcrowding while actually working to improve underperforming schools - not just move in kids from somewhere else to get the average test scores up without actually fixing anything for the students who go there.

I hope the governor and even the president come down on them hard for this debacle. It would be the one silver lining to losing at the state and federal level last time.

Spanberger doesn’t even fit that characterization. She is ex-CIA and has been elected in a fairly centrist district in VA. She was rated the fifth most bipartisan member of Congress at one point. More like a Mark Warner than an AOC type.

I’ve no doubt the MAGA crowd will attack her as a limousine liberal, but that will only play to hard-core Trumpers. Others will readily see through it.

She is indeed ex-CIA, and consistent with that, she’s extremely deceptive.

Remember when she was first elected? Her loud message to other progressives was: “stop using the word ‘socialism!! ‘“

Notice she did not call for an end to efforts to advance socialism or socialist causes. She simply wanted progressives to conceal their agenda from voters.

She is and sneaky and conniving in the extreme. She has no ethics whatsoever. Believe nothing she says.

What did she do for the CIA when she worked for them ?

I'm the PP. I too respect peoples' military service and my dad was a marine as well. But, unlike you, I have an issue with her choosing a photo of herself holding a rifle AS A CIVILIAN as her primary campaign photo. It's frankly bizarre. She can emphasize her military career all she wants in her speeches, written campaign materials, and interviews, but posing with an actual gun is a bridge too far for me. It would be seen as bizarre or extreme in most places on earth, not just here in the US among Dems.

U.S. taxpayers quite literally paid for her U.S. Marines training, so she could defend us with a gun and give up her own life to protect yours, if need be.

She served and was honorably discharged from our armed forces, and now people are seriously criticizing her because she touched a gun we trained her to use?
