LOL. Telling a MAGA to "broaden your sources of information, to consider reading some viewpoints that are different from your own" is like telling Superman to consider trying kryptonite.

I would suspect MAGA is very well-read because they read leftist sources as well as right wing sources. When powerful people want to ‘reprogram’ them, it’s best to know that in advance.

"MAGA is very well-read". You guys kill me. You are going to be Chris Rock and Dave Chapelle out of work.

+1 haaaaaaa
the dumbest group of people in the entire world and the entire world knows it

One only barely has to scratch the surface of right wing media to find ideas like those espoused by talking heads. She didn’t make this up on her own, she heard that from someone with a podcast, or even more likely, someone who was sitting behind a newscaster’s desk. Or even lounging in a Fox and Friends-style lounge chair.

These people do not come back to themselves without a serious reckoning for right wing media.

There are so many layers to it. For one, being conditioned for decades to consider anything and everything reported by mainstream media to be a left-wing lie (to the point where that's even now backfiring on FOX News as a lot of MAGAs don't trust FOX anymore, either. And even before they turned on FOX News they were being programmed by "trusted" sources who were cynical grifters like Sean Hannity, and some woho are no longer among us like Rush Limbaugh - who lied to them and fed into their confirmation bias and their paranoia and their Dunning Kruger echo chamber. They are basically rudderless, falling down endless rabbit holes of online garbage.

There is no way to deprogram MAGA.

Among the ones I know, this but to add to it, anyone who says something online (that they agree with) must be telling the truth because people can’t just say stuff online. Truly. I have heard that from the conservative voters in my family. Their respect for “authority,” when the “authority” looks right, is immense and unquestionable.

We can send them to the mental health facilities, like Soviets did.

Ha. We don't even have enough mental health facilities in the US to help mentally unwell people who are a real danger to themselves, much less a group of racist, useful idiot, MAGAs.

Not to mention we don't lock people up in the US for being racist and dim witted.

It is difficult to deprogram people who think logically and possess common sense but hey if you see value in trying it have fun.

Not to mention injecting bleach as a cure for COVID and feeling the love for people who carry out violent insurrections

Tom Nichols summed it up so well:

If in 2016 they suspected, rightly or wrongly, that many Americans looked down on them for any number of reasons, they now know with certainty that millions of people look down on them—not for who they are but for what they’ve supported so vocally.

Strings of losses, including the 2018 Democratic-wave election, Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory, and the “red wave” that never happened in 2022, forced MAGA voters to construct an alternate reality in which the patriotic, hardworking majority has been repeatedly thwarted by schemes so complicated that SPECTRE would have struggled to execute them. Worse, a culture (especially in the media) that for a time was desperate to understand their views now either ignores them or treats them as dangerous curiosities.

Running government like a business assumes that everything government does is meant to turn a profit. I suppose we could toll every federal road, have additional user fees to fund the FAA and add to the cost of drugs by having drug R&D pay the FDA?

At the same time, Trump's company is being shut down for fraud. His charity was shut down for fraud. His university was shut down for fraud. His casinos went bankrupt, and he himself declared bankruptcy for the 6th time the same year "The Apprentice" started.

They think this is a good business man and really want him to run the country?
