The real Matty Healy

This kind of decades long obsession doesn’t just die because the fans and your dad tell you you’re insane and scare him away. She chose that ending in the Fortnight video, in But Daddy I Love Him & in iamgonnagetyouback for a reason. He just needs to give her some opening, which I think eventually he will because he was obsessed with her too.

Matty will OD before that

Joe didn't dump her. She left him because he was a depressed man, and apparently very boring. She missed the fire and butterflies she felt with Matty Healy (“my wild boy and this wild joy”), so she ran to him straight out the slammer. Matty did dump her however because he couldn’t deal with her crazy fans and all the PR bs that comes with her.
Yes, she was seeing him behind the scenes all those years. On and off. And writing about him, a lot.

Joe quiet quit. Couldn’t have been that boring and inconsequential since she wrote with him and wrote, at a minimum, invisible string and getaway car about him.

She basically dumped Matty by doing all the PR BS rather than backing him.

Taylor's brand will always come first. Whoever she's with will have to accept that. Travis accepts it (embraces it, even). Matty didn't or couldn't (and to be clear, I'm not saying he should).

Agree with this. That’s why I personally think Travis is a great match for her.

I guess in that way. But she's got to talk to him (about what?!) every day for the rest of her life. UGH

I guess you haven’t really watched anything but silly clips of him. I would take a watch of the Kelce documentary to see that these are really good guys who are down to earth and put family first.

I never thought I’d defend Travis Kelce (I loathe the KC Chiefs) but he doesn’t strike me as some bumbling idiot. Not sure where that’s coming from… is this just a “dumb jock” or midwestern stereotype because if so, gross? Likewise Taylor Swift, while a talented songwriter and savvy businesswoman, doesn’t strike me as some tower of intellectual superiority.

He sounds like an idiot on his brother’s show, who isn’t particularly smart either but compared to Travis comes across as a genius. And I know TK has a learning disability, but he barely finished high school.

1) This sounds like wishful thinking? If so, shame on you.
2) OD on what, weed? He doesn’t do hard drugs any more. He’s said it many times.

THIS is what I can not imagine. How she goes from deep conversations with another artist over writing lyrics, favorite musicians, music theory, guitar riffs and piano chords to….football? See the lyrics to Maroon and The Tortured Poets Department both widely accepted to be about Matty. Long nights, deep conversations, lots of red wine and chocolate. Travis has a lot of charisma but let’s face it, he is skin deep, a total dork and not very bright. They have zero in common. Not her intellectual equal. She’s going to lose her mind in boredom if she marries him.

She seems to crave the fire and the passion and the drama of sneaking around with the “forbidden fruit” which makes for great music but not so much for a healthy LTR.

Maybe someday, after she’s aged out of people being so invested in her love life.

Doubt he would be honest about continuing to use hard drugs. But I don’t think he will OD. Look at Eric Clapton. You never know.

Thinking more about this. Yea, 100% Travis is in love with the brand (not the artist and probably not the person). Matty is likely is love with the artist. Her problem is finding someone in love with the person when no one can see past her brand or her talent.

I hope you're right. Ttpd makes me so sad. And its such a great story. The pop princess with the heart of Johnny Rotten ("because we're craaaazy").

Matty wouldn't have stayed silent (twice!) when the president of the united states called her names. And he wouldn't have said it would be an honor to go to the WH after the president called his girlfriend a loser.

He can say whatever TF he wants, but everyone knows he was buying pills in New York 2 summer years ago.
