I’m asking for a police report.

Call the PIO and demand a copy. They’ll surely mske it a priority.,

I’m asking because of this story: https://www.ktvu.com/news/alleged-pelosi-intruder-has-manifesto-of-conspiracy-theories-sources

Did the police mention this in their press conference? He apparently had an arrest a while back for unstable behavior but the District Attorney at the time pressed no charges. Stories like this always unfold over time.

19 years ago. There is no charge except murder that he would still be in prison for.

And therein lies the problem. If not prison, then remain in an institution or mental hospital.

Are you suggesting that everyone who trespasses while shouting "where's Nancy?" should get life in prison or be permanently institutionalized for incurable mental illness?

Prattling on about “permanently institutionalizing” someone for “incurable mental illness” is cartoonishly ignorant.

It’s as is they were ready for this to happen. How about showing a bit of concern for Mr Pelosi?

We have.
Meanwhile, the leftwings here are blaming the rightwing with no evidence whatsoever.

The intruder was screaming "where's Nancy?". Sounds like a MAGA NUTWING to me.

I am told this is behavior typical of a tourist who enters into a building by smashing doors and windows. He probably just got “caught up” and feels very bad but still has questions as a patriot.

You must not have read the post. It clearly stated 3 options for those who have committed violent crimes involving assault, murder, and rape.

No. I do believe very strongly that individuals who display violent behavior should not be out on low bail or no bail; that if a person commits a violent assault, rapes, or murders, then that person should be in prison, in a supervised group home with required meds administered, orr institutionalized for life.

Is that what happened here? It seems like he had some issue with the law in the early 2000s, then nothing for almost 2 decades (aside from conspiracy theories and far right propaganda consumption and sharing), then tries to harm/kill the speaker of the house by breaking into her home and attempting to murder her husband.

If nothing means living on the streets, doing drugs, and speaking with angels and aliens, sure I guess you could say he did 'nothing'. Reality shows that the 'nothings' turned into 'something.

Looks like Youngkin didn’t get the memo.

He condemned it as well. As you know.

Youngkin is despicable MAGA trash. He doubled down this evening when given the chance to apologize and clarify his comments. Unclear what his fleece vest thought of this. Just as Jesus preached to his disciples I guess.

Why is anyone prattling on about hypotheticals from dreamland?

The Supreme Court has a body of jurisprudence that makes it very difficult to lock up mentally ill people. Nearly impossible, actually. That’s why all the asylums were closed in the 1960s and 70s.

We know... doesn't mean it's safe for other people IF someone commits a violent crime.

He condemned it as well. As you know.

That’s not what he said at Yesli Vega’s campaign event. Stop lying.

Why are YOU lying?

Speaker Pelosi’s husband, they had a break-in last night in their house, he was assaulted. There’s no room for violence anywhere, but we’re going to send her back to be with him in California.”

He certainly did condemn the violence.

And then in the next breath he joked about it to score political points.

It was wrong so stop trying to defend it.

How about YOU stop calling people liars when they are not lying. Thanks.

What, exactly, is going to get worse? Do you know the motive of the assailant?

It was not a burglary he asked where Nancy was

“The attack was not random”. What kind of animal beats an 82 year old spouse of a political rival with a hammer? A maggot.

The modern GOP.

Either you are fine with it, or you vote against it.

Sadly...

What are you going to do when it is revealed that the perp is some deranged homeless person high on all of the legalized drugs SF allows?

It's almost as if we should wait for the facts to come out.

It’s almost as if the facts that have already come out indicate that their house was targeted, so not a deranged homeless person.

'Targeted' doesn't mean jack. Of course some deranged homeless person high on drugs can 'target' Pelosi's house because she's famous. There is no clear facts that have been revealed yet that 'targeted' implies political.

The truth is hard for you

These comments may not be PC enough for you, but they are correct.

I'm not seeing how these comments are different from not having sympathy for anti-vaxxers who get hospitalized or die from Covid. The sentiment is the same.

EXACTLY. I’m recalling lots of “thots and prayers” and “play stupid games, win stupid prizes” comments from the LWNJ peanut gallery. Loads of snickering and derisive remarks when Rand Paul was violently attacked by his neighbor. Many had the gall to say that he deserved it - and none of those comments were deleted. It’s pretty rich that the same hypocritical crowd is calling anyone a “ghoul” for pointing out some obvious facts about this attack.

PP here. I don't know this guy's history; just mean going forward after his assault on Mr. Pelosi. People with whatever his issues are should not be walking around freely.

Nice strawman. People charged with attempted murder generally don’t walk around freely. Also, IIRC California has a 3-strikes law for certain felonies.

DP. Are you for real? Do you follow current events, even a little? JFC.
