Gizelle and Robyn are def not good catches. Robyn seems kind of slow and gizelle has strong frumpy lady, unsexy energy. It’s really kind of remarkable given how beautiful they both are.

100% agree- I could have written this. Robyn does seem mildly mentally retarded and gizelle is a total Karen- self righteous with too much confidence/overinflated self-worth.

I am not going to be an internet psychologist or special educator diagnosis-er, so I don't agree that Robyn is mentally retarded. I think that Robyn still struggles with the fact that she was raped as a teen and she feels safe with Juan. I also think self esteem has some play here.

That said, season 6 is fire [as the teeny boppers say] and I am not really feeling Wendy nor Askale. Wendy screamed about how educated she was season 5 and now she has been acting like she is going to fight Gizelle. I cannot with Wendy as this season she is exhibiting the same behavior that she condemned Monique for, during season 5. I wish the producers would bring back Charisse.

robin is definitely NOT "mentally slow"!! She has a relaxed and sleepy demeanor, but she is actually quite observant, funny, and thoughtful. I love her personality. I do think that she is depressed (and maybe has been for a long time). She would probably really benefit from regularly seeing a therapist (not a "life coach").

Michael Darby is the worst of the worst. The way that he interrogated that woman who was going to massage the baby was gross. And Ashley having to apologize for not doing sex with him when hugely pregnant or newly post-partum...terrible. Seeing him really makes my skin crawl,

I bump into Gizelle now and then as we both live in Bethesda, so I'll see her out running errands or out with her kids. She seems pretty normal in real life -- I suspect she's hamming it up for the camera. You gotta make drama or the producers aren't going to renew your contract, and she doesn't have a real job does she?

I used to think the same thing about Nicki Minaj. That with her toned down look she was quite beautiful and funny why did she end up with such losers. But in time it is quite clear that water seeks its level. So clearly her and Jamal are together for a reason.

Yeah, I can see how this parallel (between Robin and Nicki) mkaes some sense. But I don't fully accept it. From what I've seen, Juan Dixon is nowhere near as problematic as Nicki's trash man, and Nicki is much more complicit in defending the indefensible than Robin (from what I know). But Juan is certainly flawed, and I wonder if Robin is keeping the status quo because she has been traumatized.

Shes not. She has a successful business. She just needs a consultant to help her with it. It was small and grew very quickly. Her personality is laid back and on the quieter side.

She does not have a successful business. She made have 15K orders, but if she's balking at $1800/month rent for her space, then she must be making very little profit.

I can understand the “slow” comment re: Robyn. She’s not as quick-witted as the other housewives and she’s not on the ball for someone her age. She’s laid back to the point of forgetting to pay her taxes, unable to keep up with business orders, unable to supervise her kids’ schooling, stays with a man whose not interested in her, rarely on time for events etc. I think the events from her past really did a number on her and agree she needs professional help, not a 15 min session with a life coach.

Yes. Harsh!
As someone with "inattentive type" ADHD, I see a lot of myself in Robin. Adding depression/trauma to the mix makes keeping up with basic tasks reallllyyy hard. But I do not think that those deficiencies mean that someone is '(mentally) slow', not smart, etc. I have a Ph.D. (not quite 4 degrees though, alas) and am a professor, and I have quite a few brilliant colleagues who are clearly more impaired than Robin when it comes to managing their daily lives.
