SYC?!?!?!? Really? They have 2 good players. They just lost to Baltimore Celtic Shamrocks team over the past weekend. SYC was a big topic pages back and have not played anyone to justify these world beater claims. One win over Arlington fresh off the CoVid break in March does not validate a team.

What does validate a team is 2nd place in the GA League with only 1 loss among other quality wins and ties.

Ok, Maryland United is a better team, agree.

Loudoun is not a good 2008 team currently. Perhaps next season they will be better if they added players.

VYS would be a good game, won't deny that either.

Again, not involved with Loudoun or FCV here. Outside the box. I just think many of you are FCV haters and are blinded by that hate for them.

What validates finishing 2nd in the GA conference? Any or all of the three teams advancing in the GA playoffs. 3 of the conference top teams went and combined for 2 wins.

Winning at least two games in the Second Bracket at Jeff Cup?

This has been covered before. SYC is a good team and when they are on they are hard to beat. Hard to tell what happens with the Celtic game this weekend but let’s look at all the results. Celtic lost to Next Level 1-6. SYC beat Next Level 1-0. Celtic beat Charleston clash 2-0 while SYC beat Charleston clash 6-0. Seems like the Celtic 3-1 over SYC is the anomaly. SYC advanced out of the group stage. Maybe they were missing a player or two for that game? You know summer soccer? Wish the SYC parents would post and let us know what happened.

I don't know if I would call parents talking with other parents or playing in extracurricular training or activities shady. That is actually how successful clubs recruit since coaches cannot recruit during the season. Geez.

These are facts, not a strong negative reaction. If you think the objective truth is a strong negative reaction then that is a sign of over inflation ones worth.

Is there a mistruth or a lie in anything that was stated? Did the post claim that the team is a bad team?

They’re nothing more than a decent team and as such are not worthy of the actual attention they get on these boards, good or bad. They aren’t a team to be envied or feared and they aren’t a crappy team either. Frankly, they are just meh as far as “elite” teams go. They seem to desperately want to be in the conversation of the top teams like VDA and Richmond but they’re just not close to that level.
