Yes if you play through the midfield your forwards get the ball in the final 1/3. That’s just not enough space to out run the defenders.

As long as Arlington has ECNL level speed they will kick ass!

FCV dad, you are wrong buddy, FCV had an accurate showing and not a bad showing but an accurate depiction of their ability! With their talent pool shrinking and families bailing for greener pastures it won't be long until they are struggling to finish top 2 in GA LOL. They will be playing in the 3rd division at WAGS and 4th at Jeff Cup!!! At least they look awesome on social media

If you look at how all the 08 top teams did at the event this past week, you would believe that the mid Atlantic division is weak. For someone to say that Arlington will do well now that they are in ECNL is ridiculous. They couldn’t get out of group stage. They played their typical kick and run no midfield.

First and foremost, I am a Loudoun ECNL Dad who have seen all of these 08 Teams. Sorry, but this Idiot 07 Loudoun father is ruining things for everyone because of his stupid EGO!

I have no problem admitting the following. FCV 08s are currently better than everyone except VDA, Richmond and Pipeline. That includes our ECNL team. HOWEVER, I cannot say the same about Arlington. I think they will finish below McLean and Loudoun next year.

Now, the problem is for FCV and because the very weak GA League, they are going to struggle at tournaments when they actually have to play decent competition. The only way to get better as a team is to play teams that are just as good and better than you. GA in the Mid-Atlantic will never provide that and hence we will watch the same thing happen year after year after year.

You casually state that only VDA and Richmond are better than FCV without acknowledging the wide gap between FCV and VDA. They are not even close.

Not with any of those teams but have played or watch them play. SYC yes the others not really. It just seems like the teams with good midfields win more consistently and get better as the season progresses. All these teams will be inconsistent because of the age of the girls. What you look for is an upward trend. Does the team get better over the course of the year? If the philosophy at the club is to rely on athleticism the teams do not get better over the season when compared to the field.

After watching girls travel soccer with two different age groups, midfield wins as they get older. If I was a TD at these big clubs I would gear my u9-u13 program to ID’ing and develop midfielders.

SYC?!?!?!? Really? They have 2 good players. They just lost to Baltimore Celtic Shamrocks team over the past weekend. SYC was a big topic pages back and have not played anyone to justify these world beater claims. One win over Arlington fresh off the CoVid break in March does not validate a team.

What does validate a team is 2nd place in the GA League with only 1 loss among other quality wins and ties.

Ok, Maryland United is a better team, agree.

Loudoun is not a good 2008 team currently. Perhaps next season they will be better if they added players.

VYS would be a good game, won't deny that either.

Again, not involved with Loudoun or FCV here. Outside the box. I just think many of you are FCV haters and are blinded by that hate for them.
