Hello. I have an evening Bat Mitzvah to attend in October on the West Coast. I am the aunt of the Batee. I can't decide what to wear, and do most of my looking on-line because I don't have a lot of time to go to stores. Which one of these dresses do you like the best? Or in what order?
Choice number 1: http://www.bcbg.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3029476&cp=2769162.2840697&page=7&parentPage=family Choice number 2: http://www1.talbots.com/talbotsonline/product/itempage.aspx?item=B216888&PFID=1427&BID=S20082731653319E1C407527254224AAF3A3&h=P&sk=P Yes, I know it is from Talbots. Okay, let's all join in one collective, Fashionista laugh. Now get over it. Choice number 3: http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=124293&CategoryID=9105&PageID=5557*1*24*-1*-1*Y*338 Or do I need to keep looking?? I am interested in all opinions, but particularly male opinions. Also, gals -- what do I do in terms of a bra for the first two dresses? It looks . . . complicated. TIA! |
| How old are you and what's your frame like? |
Wow -- the Talbots dress is really pretty! Great find!! I vote for that one (in Sapphire), hands down. I like it so much I may actually buy it myself! And I think a regular bra would probably work. It's not that far off the shoulder.
Also, FWIW, I like the other two dresses but the white one seems too summer for October (even for the West Coast), and I think the patterned one would probably work fine if you were a regular guest but strikes me as too busy/dated given all the family photos you'll be in. That said, I tend to go the classic/conservative route on these things . . . . Have fun and report back on what you choose!

| The blue one you can't go wrong. Classy, classic, very pretty color and figure flattering. A regular bra should be fine ( if it alittle off use safety pins on the straps.) |
I am 41. My frame is 5'2"; I am at an average weight and in shape. |

Keep looking - the BCBG dress is nice, but you can do better. The others- Meh!. Go to the Neiman Marcus website, they are having a clearance sale and the dresses are so fab. Here are a couple suggestions (may or may not work depending on your size or frame):

| 10:49 here. Love the blue one!!! Go for it. |
| No to #1 or #3. Talbot's is ok but maybe better for someone much younger (like 20's). I prefer the dresses from Neiman's that one of the other posters suggested -- and I think they would be more appropriate for your age. |
You have very nice taste. |
| OP here again. The Neiman sale shopper is a godsend. I have ordered your personal favorite. I like it very much. Now, do you have any ideas for shoes? |
| how about these shoes: http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/15799223/c/99.html |
Meow!
Didn't you see that she had ordered it already? |
