Dress Me Like Barbie

i think the personal fave looks like something my eccentric art teacher from 8th grade would wear.

Meow!

Didn't you see that she had ordered it already?

I actually have very sensitive feelings.

I have seen enough pictures of myself in wedding/BM garb to know that the following is the first rule -

Pick the dress with comfortable undergarments and good boob support! You will look better in a second rate dress with first decolletage than the other way around.

I like the personal favorite. Well chosen, OP and Neiman Marcus shopper/recommender! I expect that stereotypical 8th grade art teacher would only have worn it as a flowing prairie skirt with her grey hair scraggling out of its ponytail. I'm sure OP will be very chic in her sheath. Hope I'll have the legs for it when I'm 41. (Unlikely)

Definately go naked with full body paint(like the Sports Illustrated swimsuit models)

Talbot's for someone in their 20's! God no! It is for much older women, not young women.

To be safe, order 2 or 3 and return what doesn't fit well.

We had to go to a wedding when I was 5 weeks post partum (DH was in the wedding party) and I ordered 3 dresses from Talbots and took back the 2 that didn't work.

Thank you DCUMs! I have ordered both the blue from Talbots, but it was back-ordered and the Bat is soon so I definitely needed a back up. Neiman lady is pure genius. Of course, you never know how things will look on you before you try them on.

Hi, it's OP again.

I've decided to go for the blue dress from Talbots instead of the Aztec on from Neiman's. Mainly because of cost, and because I think the blue is more appropriate to the occasion. But I do love the Aztec dress and think the Neiman's poster should be a personal shopper.

I'm confused about shoes. Can you wear peep toe shoes in the fall? With stockings or without?

What do you think of these:

I know they're a little racy. But I like the cost, the height, and the bow. Festive.

Thoughts?

Way too young for the blue dress.

I agree, too young for the blue dress. I would go with closed toe pumps, but with some glam shine on them.

Really? Why too young?

They look like prom shoes.

Ok, thanks. Tomorrow it's back to the drawing board.

Or stripper shoes. Sorry. It's just that the platform soles and spikey heels are a bad combination in my book. I'd go with something a bit more traditional. Sometimes Ann Taylor has cute but classic shoes.

I think you also may want to look at brown shoes (or even metallic) instead of black. I'm not a fan of black-with-blue -- looks like you tried to match but got dressed in the dark.
