I believe Ms. Vasquez was used in cross a) because she's good at thinking on her feet and b) yes, Ms. Heard did not seem to react well to her. If someone gets under your skin they can use that to their advantage. It's done often in a court of law.

Both teams are trying to win the case for their clients. That's what they were hired to do. I don't understand judging them for trying to do their jobs.

I'm not sure how counsel using their strengths is seen as inappropriate or how anyone is expected to get a fair trial if the first rule is to "play nice." Spend time sitting in a courtroom. It's often ugly and very sad.

The last cross examination of Amber Heard by Camille was antagonistic. It's the manner in which she treated Amber. It was aggressive and unnecessary. Who says you can't say the same things, or trap her in a lie, etc, in a more civil tone. It seems incongruous to be so fakey obsequious to the judge and say Your Honor and stand up when the jury leaves, and then be allowed to lash out on a witness.

He had a good record before Amber. Yes, he admits to drug and alcohol abuse, but she was abusing drugs and alcohol too, so I don't buy the whole, "He probably can't remember what he did!" You know, she might not remember what happened either, in her drunken state, and anyway, it's her pattern to LIE.

So now it will be over. I look forward to reading about the closing arguments tomorrow.

As far as "which side is right," if it matters a lot to you, I believe it will become clear when you see how each of them live out the rest of their lives. I am feeling optimistic for Johnny, that he puts this behind him and goes on to better things.

Does that consistency and need for truth include Depp accusing defense counsel of having fabricated evidence of his tweets when his own legal team produced them in discovery and did not contest their authenticity? And does that consistency include his pathetic fake accents that changes periodically when he forgets to maintain the pretense?

You know he thinks you’re a parasite, right? He has said that very openly about his fans and supporter.

AH kept on going off to the jury extrapolating on a yes or no question, trying to turn the narrative to her advantage. AH's lawyers did the same thing to JD telling him that he has to answer yes or no and nothing else.

No, the first PP is right here. Re-read the Johnny Depp text. He said he would ruin her, and lo and behold he sued her. He effectively ruined her. Truly, if she had never put the op-ed piece, she would be in aquaman 2 and 3, and other big pictures, and he would probably still not be getting included in more movies. He clearly has major substance abuse issues and was not getting invited in big roles because of the massive liability on a production. Who actually believes he was listening to music on his headphones and not getting fed lines? If there wa any music it was as a cover. This trial was his hail mary. Her career is probably destroyed unless a woman's group wants to hire her for something. Sad. Also , those movie execs are such liars. No chemistry on Aquaman? They had to edit it in? It made them a huge amount of money. Very suspicious to edit her out of aquaman 2. It's all those millions of signatures to leave her out.

Thank you for writing this. I also have a BPD parent and I can see the patterns in AH. When you lived with one for decades as your main caregiver, you know one when you see one. I also believe JD needed to do this for himself.

I'm not a JD fan, and I'd never heard of AH before this.

This is guessing about what might happen in the future and trying to make a decision based on what we can't predict. What you write doesn't seem logical to me.

I can't judge someone based on a text. People with BPD are really hard to handle, because they lie and gaslight. You can't really understand it until you've been through it.

And the way she was able to quickly switch from the emotional, weepy, abused Amber when questioned by her attorney to the argumentative and aggressive Amber when questioned by the opposing lawyer and then immediately revert back to the helpless Amber with the quivering voice on redirect.

The texts that were brought out in court that JD said he didn't recognized were actually not from him. It was pointed out later by some commentators that those texts appeared on the evidence as incoming. The text that JD said was his (the long, colorful one) was an outgoing. All these texts were from JD's phone so the incoming texts would not have been from him. So really AH's lawyers were sneaky and tried to make him admit something that he didn't write.

As far as "which side is right," if it matters a lot to you, I believe it will become clear when you see how each of them live out the rest of their lives. I am feeling optimistic for Johnny, that he puts this behind him and goes on to better things.

And does that consistency include his pathetic fake accents that changes periodically when he forgets to maintain the pretense?

It was pointed out later by some commentators that those texts appeared on the evidence as incoming. The text that JD said was his (the long, colorful one) was an outgoing. All these texts were from JD's phone so the incoming texts would not have been from him. So really AH's lawyers were sneaky and tried to make him admit something that he didn't write.

Then why didn’t his lawyers point out that the evidence was being misrepresented during his testimony? Are you saying Camille is too stupid to know her own care?

I don't know why nobody caught on at that moment. Maybe in the heat of the moment, his lawyers didn't catch that detail, but the evidence is there and the truth is AH's lawyers made a calculated move to deceive the jury.

It was a pretty lengthy exchange and his lawyer objected it on a bunch of other grounds before it was admitted into evidence. That would be a pretty massive oversight to have substantive discussions of the admissibility of evidence and it even look at the exhibit.
