But that's consistent with a panicked perp who wanted people to believe the victim just wandered off. He wouldn't take her TV if he wanted people to think she wandered off by herself. You'd have to be REALLY dumb to do that. Burglars often leave without anything if things go bad---police generally won't put much work into tracing a stolen necklace, but if there's a dead lady associated with it, you basically can't fence that and having it sitting in your house is just asking for trouble. |
: Not at all puzzling, IMO. Possibilities: 1. It is a scam. 2. It is a real tip, and person wants to make sure (s)he gets the money. Reward specifies "leading to the arrest." There are lots of reasons why the culprit in a case like this wouldn't be arrested--dies in a shootout with law enforcement; disappears and is on "most wanted list" for years, etc. CNN pointed out that there are several real life cases in which rewards ended up being split among multiple people--e.g., person who identified a suspect has to share with the person who gave a tip as to that person's whereabouts. 3. Tipster doesn't want to pay taxes on the reward money. Thinks there's a better chance of avoiding have to do that if he uses bitcoin. 4. Tipster thinks the culprit and associates will have a harder time figuring out who "snitched" if he uses bitcoin. In this case, if person suspects organized crime or a cartel are involved, that could be especially important. |
This is week two and they were not there last week . It would be just as easy for the police to lead them away as they’ve done deliver drivers. |
You do. Thinking this backpack was recently at the nearest walmart. |
| If there is no. New news they should not spend 45 minutes of news time on no need |
+1 their news conference a few days after she was kidnapped definitely did not inspire much confidence. I’m sure they don’t have the force/experience as a smaller city to investigate serious crimes, but they also seem to have too much ego to turn everything over to the FBI … which of course, has problems of its own right now. |
I read an interesting theory on another website. It's been posited that videos of the guy on the front porch are two different nights - one around January 11. Theory is that perhaps her daughter/son in law paid someone to scare her - to make her feel unsafe in her home to persuade her to move out of the house for whatever reason (altruistic, greed, who knows?). Didn't work the first time. Maybe they upped the scare level the second time and something bad happened to Nancy. |
Oh. Sigh. There. You go again, making assumptions. Reading comprehension is fundamental. 1. No one said it was bought at the NEAREST WalMart 2. No one said the backpack was bought with other "supplies". I bet you a Bitcoin I am right. I'll post my wallet address when the truth comes out and you can pay up. Lol. |
| I would say that all this talk of an inheritance as a motive makes no sense as I bet all that Nancy has is directly from the support Savannah gives and the value of her house that she lives in. |
Yawn. I find it hard to believe that someone is going to figure out this backpack before recognizing the guy in the video. But sure pin all your hopes on it. |
+1 He no doubt got the backpack at Goodwill along with anything else he was wearing and probably burned it all after the kidnapping. The PP is hilarious. |
| Savannah fired the guy in charge and said "we have our own people" or something like that. Does that mean she is now funding this and it's no longer the taxpayers. I want her mother found, but I also want all the young people who go missing found too, many of whom are with child traffickers. |
I'm sure this is true and I agree with you but it has the odd vibe of the pizza delivery guy coming to the door. Plus all the media people around, the police taping it off then not, then coming back again and it has the feel of farce. Sadly so. |
Omg. Keep up. The whole point of what was said was that it's going to be very hard to trace. |
They do seem like dimwits. Tucson is not some small town either! It's the second most populated city in the state. Granted, it's not NYC but come on. |
