The GOP is grasping at straws. This is their way of distracting from the fact that they've REFUSED to ask POTUS for an FBI investigation into these charges against Kavanaugh.

Kavanaugh finally said, more or less, to Harris that he does not want an FBI investigation into these charges.

The Dems aren't asking for the FBI to make a conclusion. They are asking that the new allegations (Ford's) to be fully investigated. I.e. questioning Mark Judge in person, under oath.
