Take it the answer is no. You might rethink your support for her if you did. |
Yep, shes a Big No. |
All anyone has to do is read the NYT article "How Kamala Harris's Campaign Unravelled" about her hot mess of a campaign. She failed to manage her staff and couldn't handle their contradictory advice, and had no idea what kind of candidate she wanted to be. This suggests she has poor judgment in addition to little policy experience and no legislative accomplishments to date (unlike Duckworth, who was rated a highly effective legislator in the same period). Zero foreign policy experience. High negatives. I'm flabbergasted anyone thinks she would be a strong pick. |
No surprise just confirmation about Duckworth's interview, does sound like she's a top-tier contender:

Her legislative accomplishments stacked up pretty well against the other legislators running for President. She’s only been in the Senate for three years. https://qz.com/1560188/what-the-2020-democratic-candidates-did-in-congress/ |
I don't care, do you? Seriously, though, the VP choice is never dispositive. |
Hello? Darth Cheney? “Potatoe” Quayle?? |
The Black radio host used to practice law in California, pretty sure he knows who Bass is. Point still stands: Picking a Black woman isn't really beneficial. Blacks are voting for Biden no matter what. Lock up November choosing a relatable white woman. Warren has the substance or Whitmer has the it factor. |
Whitmer as VP, Kamala as AG, Gavin Newsom asks Karen Bass to fill the Senate seat. Perfect. |
Also, Biden played a huge part in getting Obama elected in 08. He appealed to the white conservative voters, many of whom were not entirely comfortable electing a progressive black man named Barack Hussain Obama. He also brought a sense of experience to the ticket with his long history in the Senate and knowledge of foreign policy. |
Agreed. Biden was an excellent pick for VP. |
That article does Harris no favors. And her record as an executive, where she was nasty to the weak and accommodating to the powerful, is clearly a disaster. She’s got two things going for her. One, her triple-minority status is a boon to the representation crowd, though they were not voting for Trump. And two, since she’s relatively young and much better looking than the others, she gets the ‘sexy’ vote, at least until she’s heard dropping her transparently evasive laughter. |
Yes, this is a great idea. Julian Castro goes back to HUD; Pete Buttigieg goes to Veteran's Affairs; Val Demings goes to DHS; Jeh Johnson goes to the FBI; Susan Rice becomes Secretary of State; Erich Holder becomes director of the CIA; Michael Bennet becomes education secretary (and Jared Polis appoints a democrat to replace hime); Patty Murray becomes EPA secretary (Inslee appoints democrat to replace her); Sean Casten takes energy; Elaine Luria takes defense; Jeff Flake becomes interior secretary; Will Hurd at NSC; Stacy Abrams at SBA; Howard Dean at HHS; Keisha Bottoms becomes transportation secretary. |
PP’s fantastical fan fiction is a real boon to Trump’s re-election efforts. |
I’m a Bass booster but it is possible the Cuba issue could derail her chances because of Florida:
