Soccer
| Jet lag and the time difference played a major role in our performance. And as you could see, the field was terrible. Put us on turf and we'll beat anybody. |
and the ball was too small.... |
and it was too hot.... |
The other team passed... |

Hilarious! |
| Both Arlington AND FCV blew it. Way to represent… |

too much pressure to win (flying all the way across the country for a few games) at too early an age (12-13).
Saw part of the arlington stream, the players on both teams have so many technical deficiencies, not to mention the tactical side. Both teams far too unrefined to get anything out of this game. Both teams should be back at home training, not playing these games. Sorry to burst the bubble. These players might be good individually since it's assumed they are the best from their clubs but as a whole their performance is way, way below what it should be. |
It’s not just the local teams. Same observations watching some of the streams of other games. I’m wholly unimpressed with the play at these ages from all the teams. The state of youth soccer in this country is just not what we think or wish it was. A national champ will be crowned but don’t mistake that winner as some kind of super club that is doing it different, they just survived longest in the tournament |
They had months, if not a whole season to prepare.. |
| Well, that is why there are playoffs with teams outside the area. Shows the teams that think they are the big dogs, how weak they are in the overall scheme of things. |
Totally agree, it's their first year playing 11v11. More time should be spend on learning how to play on full field vs. playing all these tournaments which only stress winning instead of development. |
Lol this is travel soccer. It is just not these clubs. The training is physical training- ie strength and conditioning training. So more training really will not change anything. Development is picking the best athletes and make them stronger and faster instead of selecting soccer players and developing the soccer player. Individual skill training from u9 is done outside the club on your own time because that is a low priority . There are technical girls but they have to play the style that the teams plays. It’s hard to play a technical game when other players bounce balls off their shuns and can not pass accurately but those players are fast and physical!

Yes but then how would we know which are the best teams and clubs? |
